Drove by the other day and this place has closed up shop. Having been there before it does not suprise me.

Fast, Friendly, and Colorful!. I decided to check out this place for lunch. They had 8 different specials for under $6. I had the tortilla soup and steak quesadilla. That was the right amount of food for lunch. The service was very attentive! They refilled our chips without us noticing. For dessert, we decided on the mud pie which they told us was home made. It was fantastic. Best mud pie I have had in a long time

foodfan. This location's Tortuga Dinner is outstanding in quality as well as quantity. We have tried the one on Gessner and it's food wuality was very poor, so we always return the the Hiway 6 location. Be careful though, the chops and warm sauce you get before the meal comes are so good you may not have room left for the food. The enchiladas, taco and tostado are great.

$6 is expensive?.
Anyone who thinks Tortuga is expensive is crazy. Most of their lunches are less than $6! My lunch was a little over $7 and was delicious. Huge portions, fresh food, a shrimp taco that was so hot I could barely hold it, and a spinach enchilada that I think is the best in town, by far and great rice!
I never really thought of this place before I saw some ads for them. On a whim, I tried it. Since then, I've been back 3 times and loved a new dish each time. It's one of the best values in town. I'll gladly "overrate" this kind of place. It's one of my new favorites.

Great Food. We went with the family and the food was great and the service was wonderful. The kids loved the atmosphere. I hadn't heard much about restaurant and was nicely surprised by the taste of the food. Try the rice - best in town.
