DON'T GO HERE IF YOU'RE HUNGRY!. I work up the street from this place always wanted to try the food.Went there one saturday the magarita was wonderful,I ordered a shrimp and oyster po-boy and I promise I only had 3 shrimp and 3 oyster just bread and vegetables. Needless to say I was still hungry ordered a cup of gumbo it look like it was in a child tea set cup no lie! The staff was very nice, but the food is over priced when you are only getting samples of what you ordered. I would never visit this place again!
Uses the services of reckless employees. The other day, an employee of Houston Distributing which supplies beer to Paul's, almost ran me off the road. The a**hole driver was driving a huge beer delivery truck on Hwy 6. He was speeding, tailgating, and cutting in front of other vehicles with very little space and no turn signal. I refuse to eat at any restaurant that does any business with employees of another company who drive so irresponsibly.
Great Friday Night Spot.
I am a regular, and Pauls has revamped his staff. Service was better than before, even then it was good.
They really like to know you by name, as if you are family. The menu has changed and the food is even better than before! Bring all your friends.
Always a good start. Houston Landmark, the food always good and the beers ice cold too! Great wait staff and service is with a smile. Best crawfish in town!
Please avoid this restaraunt at all costs. This is my first time writing a review as a matter of fact I raced home to get online to find out how I could possibly put this poor washed up place of business out of its own misery. I would need pages not paragraphs to write of my disgust of the poor experience I had at this establishment on my first and only visit. To say it bluntly avoid this place if you actually want food that is warm, people to actually pay attention to your needs and do not like getting overcharged. The owner himself happened to be there on the night my wife and I decided to dine but he was too distracted by a waitress dressed as if she was going to her real job at the strip club next door. If he could have taken his eyes off of her and her platform shoes he might have noticed that the few customers he had were having a miserable experience. The food was served cold, the service was pothetic to say the least and then the owner himself was rude and obxoxious. All I have to say is just keep driving as you pass this place each day. DAIRY QUEEN serves better food and not only is it warm and hot it is a hell of a lot cheaper. The happiest day of my life will be the day I drive by here and the place has either changed names or is out of business. That day is just around the corner.
Never again. We are from out of town and visiting our son in Houston. We were celebrating his birthday and he had seen this restaurant and wanted sea food so we took him their. The food was not good and the service was slow.
Great food and fun times!. The food at Paul's is some of the best around! We love the casual "kick back" atmosphere. We also enjoy Friday night karaoke on the deck. Just a fun place to meet up with friends and enjoy good food, some beer and laughs!
Fresh?--only the staff. Gag! I will never return. We sat upstairs in the only no-smoking area. I asked the waitress which was better, the fish tacos or a combo plate. She replied she had never eaten fish tacos. After a 45-minute wait for our food (there was only one other couple seated in the dining room) we were served lukewarm--not hot--food, though we were cautioned to be careful of the hot plate. I love fish tacos and these were the lousiest I've ever had. The plate was mostly filled with shredded cabbage. The fish was overcooked and the plate had sat so long that the moisture had soaked through the three tiny uncooked corn tortillas, rendering them into mush. Eating the rice, my teeth crunched on something gritty. After removing the offensive matter, I saw sand in my napkin. My companion's fajitas were greasy but edible (though it was mostly onions). He ordered "Red Cajun" potatoes as his side. He was served a plate with two small, baked, unspiced potatoes (looked like Yukon Gold potatoes). He questioned if they were really the Cajun potatoes. The waitress returned the plate to the kitchen then brought back the same plate and said the cook didn't respond. ?? The waitress was never did find the pitcher for ice tea refills. She knew we were unhappy and no manager seemed to be available. Her cheeky response was "Sorry y'all were disappointed." I hope she wasn't disappointed in her tip! Yes, we tipped but not our usual, generous percentage (hey, we've worked in restaurants). This may be a good place to go sit and drink, but not to eat. The staff did seem more interested in those quaffing down beers quickly. Houston offers enough other restaurants so no need to return here.
UPGRADED!!!! NOT a dive!. Very GOOD FOOD! Atmosphere....relaxing... after a long day!!! Not too fancy, but NOT a DIVE!!! Just relaxed, down to earth, comfortable atmosphere!!!! Staff, very friendly, very personable!
