The place is closed as of early September. When I tried to visit this little place in early September it was closed . I always found it small and crowded, but the food was good. Not sure what happened, but the nearby competition said it happend fast.

Best BYOB Restaurant. The restaurant has reverted to its old format and the food is excellent. Has a takeout special that is the best deal in town. For $35 you get dinner for 4 and for $5 more desert for 4 (take out only). We can't cook at home for that price with the quality of food. No corkage charge and great service. Like the new decor. reservations on the weekend are necessary. Parking is limited; however, you can park across the street. Vine wine room is in the same center if you forget the wine (buy a bottle and take to the restaurant).

Changes and very dissatisfied. Oh my gosh - changes for the worst! Used to be one of my favorite west side places to go but not anymore. Vine room will have to recommend some other place. Tonight we took some friends who have never been and weren't we surprised! First, the decor has been updated which is good, nice new booths and they did away with counter bar area and hid the kitchen. Now the bad news - NO MENU, they have four entrees, one appetizer and no plain coffee. Yes, four entrees - fish, veal, lamb, and osso buco. We ordered one fish dish and veal. Then came the bill - $32 for the fish and the veal was $35 al la carte. Of course the waiter tells you the four dishes they have available which happens to be the most expensive items on the old menu! Fish was luke warm and had to send it back. Then came time for coffee and, sorry we only have expresso and cappucino - no plain coffee. Again, what's the deal- keeping the pricy things on the menu. Let's face it if I'm going to spend $35 on an entree, I'm off to Morton's, Papas Brothers, etc. We asked if this is temporary and were told no. Also told it was not under new management. Well at these limited selections and high prices, I'm afraid it won't last... So sad because the old way the food was varied (had great menu) and reasonable prices.

The experience left a bad taste in my mouth...FOREVER. On August 11th I visited this restaurant for the LAST TIME. I decided it was good enough for me to make it a neighborhood restaurant, they proved me wrong. The teenage host asked me where I wanted to be seated and I chose. As the place is dark and I had chosen to have a very early dinner I wanted to sit by the window where I could see the light of day. He decided during my meal to over-rule my wishes and shut down the curtains. He looked at me in the face as if daring me to say something and said that it was too bright, didn't ask or apologize, just shut them down. I understand that there were other customers but I was one too and I was there first. When I voiced my discontent he mocked me, showed me a smirk and made me feel as if my money was not important there, all of these while the older man (manager or owner, don't know) watched and did nothing. He said customers wanted the curtains down, I don't remember eating for free, I think that makes me a customer....for the last time. They are rude and leave the care of customers to teenagers.

Best Bring your own Wine Italian. Yum Yum this resturant is great! the Food is delicious and I love that i can bring my own wine. The waiters are all nice and the service is good most of the time. This is definitely not a quite and romantic place however, they do have a patio seating that is quiet. Personally i like this lively atmosphere...try it you might like it! : The seafood is great! oh beware of the specials because they are especially priced $$$$$

Excellent food and ambience. Authentic Italian restaurants are normally small and crowded, however the excellent food and service here surpasses all the "disadvantages" as some people list them. I have been here many times and having travelled the world and lived in many countries I can tell you that this restaurant has never let me down. We had soft shell crab with pasta which was fantastic, and their tomato and crab salad which is huge and an appetizer is a favourite of mine for a main dish. I highly recommend it and have had many wonderful evenings here with friends..........you try it and write a review...I am interested........

Best Italian Neighborhood restaurant in town. Great food. Lamb chops are incredible. Weekend $30 takeout dinner for 4 is a top value. Small place and so are the tables but the food is huge. Best part (after the great food) its BYOB or go to the wine bar on the corner and have Chano from Azzerellis bring food while trying the wines at Fine Vine. Service is very friendly and so are the neighborhood customers. When the weather cools eat on the patio.

Best Italian Food in the City!!. WOW!!! I've found my new favorite restaurant! I ordered a pasta dish, and my husband had a stuffed chicken dish - both were excellent! We enjoyed our own bottle of wine without paying a corkage fee and even ordered dessert and cappucino. We were stuffed by the time we left!! The food is excellent - the best Italian I've had in a a long time. Don't expect a romantic dinner here - the tables are very crowded and it's noisy, but the food far makes up for any downfalls. I was disappointed in the bread, but the olive oil for dipping was very tasty - packed with fresh herbs. Also, the capuccino was overpriced. You can also order wine from a neighboring wine bar and they will bring it over for you. Be sure to make reservations, since there are a limited number of tables. A few minor complaints, but we will definitely be back again and again!!! The previous reviewer must have been there on a bad night - our service and food was excellent.

SUCKS. This is NOT good Italian food. The ambiance was horrible, cramped in a TINY room having to basically sit on top of each other. The menu was limited and the pasta was not cooked all the way and cold and the sausage was BLAND. I don't have any idea why this Azzarelli guy (or whoever runs it) is still in business. He doesn't know how to run a restaurant. The waiter smelled like smoke and there were cigarette butts all over outside...disgusting. I was very unhappy with the whole place.

With a family tradition of serving great Italian food, this West Side neighborhood restaurant has many heart-healthy options.. In Short
With a combination of Italian comfort foods and healthy entrees, Azzarelli's is ideal for a feast or just a light meal that's easy on the diet. House specialties at this cozy 10-table restaurant include white pizza (white cheeses, chicken and garlic) and Southwest pasta, served with shrimp, black beans, tomatoes and cilantro. Other dishes include lobster crepes, pork chops, grilled salmon, stuffed mushrooms, veal, lasagna and a variety of fresh salads and desserts.
