“went to Musiq and Erykah, and indeed the foolishness that was going on in the parking lot and line with 2 the metal detectors was quite ridiculous for Musiq.”
“This message is mainly for the owner, since your staff refuses to allow me to contact you regarding the poor service I received on May 16th.”
“But, the experience was disappointing the minute you pull into the drive.”
The Arena Theatre is one of Houston?s oldest and most successful concert venues, featuring music concerts, comedy, and sports events, comdey shows. When you come to the Arena Theatre, you don?t come to see a show, you come to experience it. Because of its unique design, this theatre in the round provides guests with an intimate evening with their favorite entertainer. Arena Theatre has proudly presented many legendary artists such as Willie Nelson, BB King, Tom Jones, Aretha Franklin and Smokey Robinson. With no seat more than sixty feet from the stage you feel like you are part of the show, not just part of the audience. This intimate setting, unique to the Arena Theatre only, lets you feel like you get to know your favorite star a little better. The Arena Theatre customers are also able to enjoy four, full service, inside bars without missing a beat. …
Love to attend concerts at the Arena Theatre. It's in the round and all seats are actually good. I've been to many shows at this venue, most recently, Charlie Wilson last month and Cedric the Entertainer last week. Waiting for Babyface tickets to go on sale so I can see him too.
Worst venue I have ever been to. Wish I had looked at the earlier comments before buying tickets. The show for Bebel Gilberto last Saturday started 2 hours late with no opening act nor any apology or announcement whatsoever from management. Requests for refund are simply ignored. This is a place that does not respect its customers and does not deserve to stay in business.
watch out when you come here like Juan
P said below management is on constant watch for terrorists - i had a black lady cop stand over me as if I had made some threat- chris isaak said 'take all the pictures you want' - then i asked for my camera back and the PR lady having just come out of back room with her video camera in hand i asked for my camera back because Chris said it was okay - blah blah blah against Arean Theatre policy - later while Christ walked to bus I yelled hey Chris can I have a photo - AGAIN security whisked him away citing against Areana Theatre policy. Their policy is to screw you over if you are a fan and want to have fun. And racist too, all black and minority hires from office, to security to preferred cops on duty. Beware white show venues this place is run and gives preferrential treatment to black shows with black audiences. I was treated unfairly for NO REASON other than to harass whites. Antichrist blacks to boot - there is no stranger world of experience than these Communists who hate. Gladly though I could tell Chris caught on to this black dominated and thusly run venue, was he in addition to mocking the rules of No Cameras or Recorders and invited freely all who want to take photos to take them cause 'he's just that kind of guy"...he also invited girls up on stage to dance with the band. And I am certain that was also against Arena Theatre policy; so he mocked them - while still staying employed and bookable.
Overall Chris does well in a totally fuxated venue run by a bunch of overly stimulated too easily heightened aware of white crowds staff. NO APPRECIATION OF ROCK AND ROLL OR MUSIC FOR THAT MATTER. Fuck that place I will never go back. Oh and not mention that turning round stage thing? It favors one side and it wasn't the one I was on....so right off knowing this they sold me a grievance ticket. The whole place is racist. JUst fuck it right out of business. I would rather have Chris not be turning around get a little satisfaction from venue that you know doesn't hate you.
Don't waste your time. The venue is nice, but the management constantly cancel events and make sure to read their refund policy (NO REFUNDS). They advertised the Legacy Championship and then the main fight (the championship fight) was cancelled. I ask for a refund or a courtesy pass for another event. NO REFUNDS. Check the list of cancelled events and then good luck fighting for a refund or for them to do the right thing. You have been forewarn. Never again I will buy a ticket for that place.
Horrible customer service, and Horrible organization!.
I paid $303 for two tickets to Legacy FIghts, and when I got there they could not find my tickets even after I showed them my receipt from the web site that i purchased them on... they made me purchase 2 more seats another $155! and no one will answer the phone, and I want my money back! The online company delivered them and even show them being scanned in at 7:25!
I don't even think the Arena Theater deserves 1 star could there be a negative star?
Ms Vasquez/Long, the reason the order was not initially found was because you bought the tix from a scalper website, NOT Arena Theatre (AT). You entered the arena w/ these tix. You came back to the office after seeing the receipt showing a different credit card- the scalper did not use YOUR credit card to purchase the tix...as the charge would have reflected the true cost of the tix- & not incl his commission. You told us you did not want to use the tix because you did not want to "get in trouble." You then CHOSE to buy a pair of tix directly from us @ the true face value of the tix. The online company that you refer to is not related to AT, & I can only assume that you had buyer's remorse from buying tix @ the inflated amount from the scalper, and then bought seats directly from AT @ half the cost. It is unfortunate that you choose to post something that is not true, when the receipt for the scalper tix left for you & the tix you purchased @ AT reflect the YOUR signature.
This is the worst venue I have ever been to.
This message is mainly for the owner, since your staff refuses to allow me to contact you regarding the poor service I received on May 16th. I was really looking forward to the Al Green concert and paid $170 for 2 tickets to sit in the 2nd row. When the concert began, the stage rotated around until it got to our section and then it turned in the other direction. He never faced us once! When i called to complain, your employee, Cynthia, took my information and said that she would speak to the owner and call me back in 30 minutes. She never returned my call. I called the next day and spoke to Celia, who told me there is nothing that she can do, and has no way of escalating to the owner. I find it hard to believe the owner of a company would allow this type of customer service.
This will be the last time I ever purchase tickets for the Arena Theater. I work too hard to just throw my money away. The sad part is that Al Green rarely comes to Houston, so that may have been my last opportunity.
At least you got in touch with someone... I have tried for a week now, and no answer and mail box is full!

AWESOME!!!!!. I JUST SAW FOREIGNER PERFORM THIS WEEKEND AND LET ME TELL YOU IT WAS THE MOST WONDERFUL CONCERT I HAVE EVER ATTENDED. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME TO ATTEND THE ARENA THEATRE AND IT IS AWESOME! I WILL DEFINATELY BE BACK (HOPEFULLY 4 SOME MORE GREAT ROCK) THE ARENA SEATING IS PERFECT --NOT A BAD SEAT IN THE HOUSE. WE WERE ON THE 6TH ROW AND COULD WALK DOWN TO THE STAGE FOR SOME AWESOME PHOTOS! WONDERFUL
Hot Customer. I went to the Jaheim concert on saturday May 24th it took an hour to get in to the theatre and I knew there was a problem then because the doors were open and it was hot in the hallways. When we finally entered the theatre there was about an hour wait for drinks and food. During the concert it was very hot and I thought it would pass, but to my dismay it did not. I was sweating through my clothes, which is unacceptable for indoror event. I'm not sure thatI will ever return to this arena again especially if this problem is not solved. I think you should offer some kind of compensation to patrons attending this event. Jaheim as a performer was very good, but I'm sure he was experiencing some of the same discomfort as those attending the concert being under all the lights.
I sung with Ms. Patti LaBelle. Wow, is all I can say. What an experience. My first time going to the Arena I was so pleased. The seats were comfortable and you could enjoy the whole show. I believe the only thing needs to be fixed is the website. I missed the opprotunity to capture my performance with Ms. Patti because I did not bring my camrea. I didn't know and couldn't find out if I could bring it in or not. But over all it was the BEST. I GOT TO SING WITH PATTI LABELLE YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Arena theatre improved with Erykah. Let Me say first, I am an avid concert go-er and I have been to several hundred concerts all over the country, seen all types of artist in various types of venues. I am from Houston and I must say that Houston crowds are the absolute worst in the whole country. No where else do people pride themselves in sitting down throuh out the entire concert. If You have bad feet, fat or just plain lazy either sit in the handicap section or stay home. Dull crowds make the performer shorten performances and not do encores(ie Michael Jackson said he would not perform in Houston again). That being said the Arena theatre is one intmate venues I have ever been in. I went to Musiq and Erykah, and indeed the foolishness that was going on in the parking lot and line with 2 the metal detectors was quite ridiculous for Musiq. Also the box office(where people were purchasing tickets) is right next to the metal detector funnel (which is the only entrance), which is right next to Will Call(Ticket Pick Up) which adds to the madness by the Entry. I was dissapointed that Chrisette Michelle did not perform but, unless she was NOT going to be paid, there was no excuse to miss a performance( I do not know the details of the incident but being a DIVA over being PROFESSIONAL will not enhance or propel your career). The management did improve in both of those areas with Erykah, however there is still room for improvement (the concert started a few minutes late, but Erykah said it was her fault). The likelihood of people in those particular crowds bringing a firearm into a venue is highly unlikely (the same as a Hanna Montana concert). Know the type audience and stop with the overkill PLEASE. The sound in the place was incredible. The only better places to see concerts in Houston is places without seats(small clubs)
