Nice familly owned salon in Chinatown.
Global salon is owned and run by two sisters. The lead sytist and owner does the cuts, while the other sister is the colorist. I've been here a couple of times because it's close to my work and getting an appt is easy, so once you get there it's an easy in and out.
Don't expect the frills you would find inside the loop. The ambience is basic at best. When you enter, the space is a long rectangular typical strip mall salon, definitely nothing fancy, and the lighting is a bit yellowish.
As for the services, I got a better than average cut and style from the main (older) sister, who doesn't talk very much, (I thought it might be because her English isn't so good but I could be wrong) and my only suggestion is that if you have long hair, request that she cut with scissors only. I gave her full reign so she used those scissor-razors to create the layers which gives a less polished cut than scissors only. Still, for the price paid, I got shampoo, cut, and style for about 1/2 the price of Toni n Guy.
