Authentic mexican food. very good food and they were so nice to us.

We went over to eat while we were waiting to get our tattoos at Texas Body Art.

I loved the nachos!

Go, great place. We have been to El Gallo on Jones road many times. I have taken my family from Ohio there when they visit. The food is always good, the staff has always been friendly and they have never been "fresh" as another review implied.

In fact, the manager actually remembered my mom after meeting her only once, a year later when her and my dad returned to eat again. He was courteous and friendly. The food has always been good, especially the dinner plate with chicken and Chihuaha cheese. Can't remember the exact name, but it's always good.

Don't go. New to the area, El Gallo is close. Didn't like the food at all. As soon as I took a few bites I honestly considered ordering something else and gracefully paying for it, thinking I just couldn't appreciate it authenticity or something. I picked at my childrens plates, didn't like them either. I'm not going back. I felt the older male staff, like 3 different men, came to our table. I thought they we're being fresh with me and/or my daughter. The whole experience was not enjoyable or tasty. Wasted $25 dollars. Later mentioned my opinion to a co-worker who totally agreed and had actually refused to pay and left unhappy their last and final visit.

Great Food for the Price. I recently moved to Houston and was introduced to El Gallo by a friend. I must say I was very pleased. This is the only Mexican restaurant where I don't have to add anything to the guacamole. I can actually taste the garlic powder in the guacamole. Great restaurant for the price, you may encounter a slight wait on Friday evenings but it is worth it.

Best Mexican food in Houston. Great food, great service, great prices, what more could you ask for. By far the best Mexican food restaurant in Houston. We have tried others but we ALWAYS come back to the El Gallo. We recomend it to all of our friends and we have lots of converts!

quality/value/service. This is by far one the best Tex/Mex places to go if you like good food/great service and all for a very reasonable price. I do not understand how anyone can not like this place. I eat at restaurants all over the country and always enjoy going back to El Gallo. They have the fastest and friendliest service in town.

Best Tex-Mex in Town. El Gallo is by far the best Mexican Restaurant in town. If you like Tex-Mex you will love this place. Great food, wait staff and atmosphere. And the price is great too.

You'll Go Back, Again & Again. I have been eating at El Gallo for 25 years now, since I was 5. And it has the best Tex-Mex there is and at the best price. Maybe I am a little bias, but I LOVE Mexican food, and I eat at a lot or different restaurants. Nothing comes close to El Gallo. People that eat there tend to be hooked and keep going back. Why go to Pappcito's and spend $15 - $20 a person. when you can spend less then $9 and get better food at El Gallo. It is a great family place as well. And the wait staff is very friendly and the service is great. I feel at home whenever I am there. So if you live in NW Harris County and even if you don't, come try El Gallo on Jones Rd, you will go back again and again.
