Getting even better. The food is great, the Margaritas are the best in Houston Metro area!! I don't know why we don't have a rating for margaritas on this, like the other Mexican restaurants do. They would likly be rated 10's by everyone. The service is never lacking, unlike an un-named mexican restaurant on the other side of 249. I have been eating and drinking here since 1990, and I have never been dissapointed.

largefamily. El Palenque Mexican Restaurants are the best! There are 3 in town and all of them are great. With a family of 6 all boys, they fill my boys up without killing my pocket book. Mom also gets a super Margarita and everyone is happy. The service is always outstanding. We even had one of the owners come see if everything was ok. My boys drinks never went empty and better yet you don't pay for re-fills on sodas. Being from San Antonio I have to say this is the best Mexican food I have had! I think everyone should get over to El Palenque! The best resturant in TEXAS!

Tex_mex the way it should be!. The atmosphere is fantastic, the staff attentive and the food is ample enough for even the hungerest. The lunch specials will have you looking for a seista.

Let's eat. Great atmosphere, very lively and fun. Extremely attentive waitstaff and the biggest, most delicious platter of fajitas I've ever had. We're now regulars.

margarita. Excellent margarita, specially during Happy hour. Try Enchiladas Verdes, if you are Mexican, you are going to love it. just delicious!!
