While driving home, we plan our dinner date!. We were holed up in a hotel after a flood in our house and decided we deserved a nice dinner out. I pulled out my trusty Driod and Googled away at Italian Restaurants in Houston. My husband is from back East so he raves about a family restaurant back home and for 5 years, we have tried to find a restaurant that is comparable. WE FOUND IT IN CAMPIONI!!! We started coming in November of 2010 and have made it a weekly ritual. We literally start planning our next meal while driving out of the parking lot. We recently started to meet friends there and they are also in love. We've decided to make it a date night between our two families. My husband even texted all his family (They mostly still live back East) and told them that he finally found something that might even be better than the P family's recipe. He always orders the spaghetti and meatballs, I have the lasagna and we always share the Mediterraneann Salad. The bread is simply amazing. a warm loaf of Focaccia with whipped butter. The owner always walks around and talks to the diners and it seems like the family is very involved, as he came out and I overheard him tell a customer he was taking his daughter home. It's a small family restaurant feel, which I love. My daughter is 6 months old and I think she already feels at home in her high chair with her bottle and puree in hand. I can't wait to puree some spaghetti and meatballs in our hand mill when she's old enough. We will continue to be regulars and I promise, if you go once, you will be too! (P.s. we almost live 20 minutes away but the drive is worth it!)

Citysearch Editorial Review. This casual Italian spot in North Houston is a fixture for hungry families, offering pasta and pizza stalwarts alongside rotating specials like smoked salmon pizza and pecan-crusted snapper.

Love the Ambiance. We order from here all the time through Take-Out Taxi, but this was our first visit. The food is always great and moderately priced. It's a perfect place for a tasty and satisfying dinner. The service is excellent, and the restaurant itself is charming. An elegantly painted mural adorns the entire eastern wall and the somewhat dated decor only adds to its charm. I definitely recommend this place. It's especially great for a family experience. Bring the kids!

Big Disapointment for Italian/Pizza. Mediocre at best. In desperate need of updated decor.

Pasta has entirely too much sauce - swimming in it - and the petite plate of Caesar salad, while good, was about $4.50, a ridiculous price to pay. Pizza sauce had a very sweet taste - too much sugar in the sauce.

The one good thing was the kids pizza - my daughter loved it.

Beer prices were good - too bad the salad prices weren't.

I am all for the local guy but, so far, haven't really found it in NW Houston for Italian and Campioni was a disapointment - especially after selecting it based on the good reviews.

Even the picky paysans would love this place. I recently visited Campioni's after a 15-year hiatus and found an expanded resaurant with a larger menu and the owners looking a bit older. I had a pizza and a salad and they were both delicious. Don't you just love non-chain non-formulaic restaurants with friendly, but not robotic service? "Il Campionissimo" of Italy, Fausto Coppi would be proud of this establishment! I'll be back before another 15 years pass. Nice lunch atmosphere consisting of neighbors and business folks. There are not enough well-run places like this one since the Wall Street crowd has taken over the hospitality and restaurant businesses.

Campioni means Champion!!!. Campioni means champion, and that they are! This restaurant, by far, has the finest Italian food in northwest Houston. The food is unlike any other, everything from their house bread, to their pastas, to the desserts are made fresh in house everyday. The cozy atmosphere makes you feel right at home, and the ambiance suits many occassions, such as a casual dinner to a romantic affair. The service is unmatched with friendly servers, who have an excellent knowledge of the menu, and prompt arrival of the food. Large portions, moderate prices, and tasty food make this restaurant #1!!!
