Editorial Review for La Madeleine French Bakery – by Beth Lee

In Short
Hardwood floors, tables and chairs scattered in front of a fireplace; the decor is reminiscent of a French countryside cottage. Orders are placed at the front counter and brought to the table. Full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus are available; however, patrons are invited to come just for a glass of wine or cup of coffee. No meal would be complete without trying the strawberries Romanoff--fresh strawberries topped with brandy cream sauce.

There are a lot of enticing foods-salads, meats, sandwiches....but I always get the same meal because it is a treat for me to eat here. I order a bowl of creamy tomato basil soup-the best I've ever tasted!, and share a wild field salad with warm chicken strips on top. It is covered in the most flavorful balsamic dressing! Quality food well worth the price. You can have all the bread you can eat- wheat, country, and my favorite nine grain! The jams are delicious- I bought the strawberry rhubarb jam for myself-you can also buy their breads and soups to take home. It is cozy, yet casual for a french restaurant. I love it!

Pros: quality, good service, tasty

Cons: crowded

I went to La Madeline with my french class just as an end of year outing. The food was wonderful, lite and yet filling, and very much reminded me of my trip Touring France, if you just wnat some good bread, or an nice outing with a friend, this place deserves your presence. The food, was excelent, the prices were resonable, and there was no line, and not that crowded. It is worth your time if you want a good, authintic french meal. Bon appetite!!

Pros: Excelent Food, Nice atmoshpere, Not too Crowded
