Disappointed. I went to the restaurant just because of the mariachis; however, I was disappointed that I had to pay them $15 to play one song! I had been a customer at a different restaurant where the mariachis were paid by the restaurant and only collected tips from the customers. The service and food were ok.

disappointed. We have been here several times on our own. We then bought a certificate on a popular website and when we tried to use it, they said we couldn't use it and then they put an extra $10 tip on our tab without our authorization. On top of that, the food is average at best. There are so many great mexican restaurants in houston that there is no reason to come here.

Horrible Service!. The food was really good but the service was horrible!

The waitress was rude and neglectful the entire time. Things went from bad to worse when we tried to use a gift card for more than the price of the meal.

Apparently it is restaurant policy not to give change back on gift cards. She refused to issue another gift card for the remaining balance and asked that we use a card so she could be tipped!

After involving the manager who she claimed wasnt there, he suggested that we just order a drink on dessert to finish out the balance of the card since its the policy not to give change on gift cards. When i asked for the dessert menu I was informed that they didnt have one but he could offer me Flan, Tres Leches or Sopapillas to finish out the balance of the card.

Through all of this the waitress was rude and only concerned about her tip.

After getting Home I pulled up their menu only to find that i had in effect been charged $6 for $3.95 Sopapillas.

While the food was good (the only reason I'm even giving it a star) it was not worth the disrespectful staff.

My food was so bad I sent it back.. We started with the idea of driving out on Westheimer to try a new place. Doneraki looked festive, so we stopped. It is beautiful inside, nicely decorated, with tasty chips and warm salsa. That is where the fun ended.

I ordered "carnitas in banana leaf" which is supposed to be tender, tasty pork, but was more like chewing on a shoe. The refried beans were from a can, and the rice (though edible) was also tasteless. Basically, they start with poor-quality food then prepare it with no seasoning. I called the waitress and sent my plate away.

My 2 friends were able to eat their food only after pouring on bowls of salsa. Never had we been to a Mexican restaurant where the food had so little flavor! I told the manager we were "particularly underwhelmed" and I was definitely unwilling to try another dish; I figured whoever served me the pork-flavored-shoe would still be working the grill.

Here's the kicker: the pitchers of margarita were $28 apiece. I put in $20 even though I didn't eat anything but leftover tortilla. DO NOT GO HERE.

Be Sure and Try the Aluminum. As I drove up to this place, my wife said," We have been here before and you did not like it." Well, I had forgotten this, but within 30 minutes, we were ruing to the car never to return... I will never forget this time. We ordered nachos which were bland and after eating the fourth one, the waitress came up immediately as I realized that there was something else in the nacho other than what I was expecting... it was a chunk of aluminum embedded in the sour cream. When the waitress saw me remove it from my mouth, she was much surprised as I was and asked if I wanted anything else. I relied, "no, just my check." The check came and I was charged full price... much to my chagrin... left cash with a "small tip" and ran to the car never ever to return.

Avoid this place. I'm usually not the one to complain. We had very poor service. There were like 20 of us and they only allowed us to have one waiter. And she repeatedly got our orders wrong. My fiance and I ordered fajitas and never recieved our tortillas after asking for them like four times. By the time we got them it was, 20 mins later, our food was cold. We never recieved refills, and they were very rude even after all of their mistakes. I would not recommend this place to even my worst enemy. I never write reviews about anything, but in this case, I wanted to put their service out there.

GREAT food!!!!!. I have been going here for about 7 years now... The micheladas are amazing! The salasa is tempurature hot (hard to find), Ceviche is to die for, the tortillas are also amazing and the saturday/Sunday breakfast is my favorite part of the weekend hands down! With over 100 items on the buffet there is no way you can't find one of donerakis treats to make your Saturday morning even better!

Good cheap mexican food. I love going here for lunch. It's never crowded, it's cheap and you get free queso. If you can drink with your lunch, the margaritas are good and cheap too. The food is your standard tex-mex but it's worth the value. I recommend the fajitas or anything off the cheap lunch menu. The service is inconsistent. Sometimes quick and sometimes slow. The only complaint I have is the mariachis on weekend nights. I don't enjoy that kind of music so it's loud and annoying.

Nasty. Loud, rude service, nasty food, even nasty drinks, yet people flock there. Why? I have no idea. I guess overall Houstonian don't have any idea what good Mexican food should taste like.
