The Caribbean cuisine and atmosphere are capricious, but you won't leave hungry, mon..
In the Caribbean, a nightclub is referred to as a "capriccio." From the look of things, this outer-loop newcomer (formerly Italian with proof in the leftover décor) can't decide if it's a restaurant or club. Worn and dimly mysterious, it's outfitted with a dance floor, mirrored disco balls, and tunes ranging from Sinatra to rap.
Ambitious Capriccio offers ceviche, fried whole red snapper, and more, but at this early stage we can't recommend seafood. Crab salad missed its advertised lemon-dill dressing and avocado, plus the crabmeat was off. Pollo tipico fared slightly better: bone-intact chicken chunks served in russet chile sauce alongside a massive platter of buttery rice, iceberg salad, deftly sautéed plantains and bland red beans. Fried pork chops, cilantro shredded beef, and beef liver sautéed with onions round out the menu, that's anything but light.
