Place Sucks!. This place sucks! We went there this past Saturday for a couple of drinks and to chill out. First of all Ive been in the industry before so I understand a bartenders deli-ma and I have great patience. Having said that, when I stand at the bar, the tender makes eye contact with me, but takes orders or closes tabs of people that walk up behind me is inexcusable. Then I ask "can I get a couple of drinks from you when you get a chance?" I get an attitude back? That's total BS. Also there was a dart tournament going on, after we got there and started a game of cricket. Just two of us were playing and we were almost done, and the dick head manager came up and asked us if they could use the board. FYI the people playing weren't even there yet! I told him give us a couple of minutes and we would be done. That wasn't good enough, we get to the last round he comes up and erases the board and takes the darts. The guys playing in the tourney tell us that we can switch off with them so at least they were cool about it. Then were just standing up at the bar and the vagina in the bama gear (manager) keeps coming up to us to tell us to get closer to the bar so a random dart doesn't bounce off the board and hit us! We were probably 4 feet from the score board! Seriously, you manage a bar. Your not part of the Chamber of Commerce. I hope the people that do the hiring read this, and if hes the one that does it...that place is in trouble GO BACK TO ALABAMA, THIS IS F**KING TEXAS!!!

Great World Cup Place. The pub was packed with standing room only during the World Cup game on Saturday but I never had to wait long for a drink. They served an English breakfast before the game and an American lunch of burgers and hotdogs after the game. Don't know what the previous review is talking about but I found the place to be very clean. My frenkds and I will definitely be back.

No CUSTODIAL SERVICES. I have recently started going to Ron's and after the first few visits I completely understand why a fellow friend refers to it as Ron's "pube". On each occasion upon entering the restroom I was warmly greeted by a pungent steaming turd staring at me in the toilet bowl. After the first few instances I thought it was simply the ill mannered patrons of this establishment but on further observation I became aware of the degraded restrooms and the obvious lack of any custodial service that is needed throughout the night at any bar or restaurant. If vomiting at a bar is your thing by all means pay a visit to this place and check it out, as for me when I go out the last thing I want to do is throw up because of the "shit-state" (pun intended) of a bar or restaurant's facilities.

I am sorry to hear of your experience at Ron's Pub; however, I assure you that was not a standard of our cleanliness. We have a cleaning crew who comes every morning and works hard to keep the place nice. It is unfortunate you had to enter the restroom behind someone without the manners to make sure the toilet was flushed properly.

A Place Where People Matter. On behalf of the Owner and Manager of Ron's Pub we would both like to thank all of our loyal customers for their support. It is truly sad when one person attempts to tear apart what has been standing strong for over 20 years. The man who continually writes these slanderous reviews against our establishment was banned from returning to Ron's after being asked multiple times by the staff to stop making racial comments, using vulgar language and violent actions. We are a fun and peaceful place where the staff and regulars make every attempt to welcome everyone with open arms. Our house policy has always been to that political, religious and racial views should not be discussed unless it can be done in an intelligent and adult fashion. Our customers are from all corners of the world, from all economic levels and ages. We come together in times of need such as remaining open as long as possible during and after Ike to help those who had nowhere else to go. We come together when a friend is in need whether it's to raise funds for medical support or take turns sitting at a bedside for moral support. We, Ron's Pub Family, will not allow one man's bad attitude ruin what we have built over the years nor will we allow him to slander Ron's good name. I encourage all to avoid reading these reviews and to come by the Pub and find a second home.

its where everyone knows your name. Ron"s Pub is a great place if your looking for your very own cheers. Its the kind of place that makes you feel comfortable even if you go alone. If you like sports, go on in. If you dont like sports, thats ok go on in anyways. If you like poker, guessing at trivia questions, playing darts, sitting with friends, reading a book, doing work on your computer, doing work over the phone, or just sitting by yourself all while have an ice cold beer, then Ron's pub is your place.

BTW all 4 of the bad reviews you have read about Ron's is from the same guy. He was banned from the pub because on election night he was sooooo upset that america had the nerve to election a black man that he started yelling at customers and using the "N" word. Thats enough to get you banned but he didnt stop there. He threatened customers with a knife and said he was going to get his gun, then he started walking around the pub with his dart case pretending it was a gun. 75% of the people who go to Ron's are republican but what does that have to do with drinking a beer and having a good time. It doesnt matter what race, religion, political party you belong to, what country your from or where you grew up. If you like to drink and dont mind other people drinking then Ron's pub is your place.

Great place to hang out with friends!. Something's not quite right with the world when there's all this truly important stuff going on, and somebody takes the time to post a bogus review online because he's upset at getting kicked out of a bar!

Ron's is not glamorous, and it's not where you would think to go to pick someone up (although I know a lot of couples that met there!). It is a comfortable place where you can go with your friends and enjoy a few drinks, or meet new friends, or just go and hang out by yourself. The drinks are cheap, the music is generally good, and the bartenders are great. They are occasionally busy serving others, or talking too, since they're friends with people too. Give them a few minutes, though, and they'll serve you a strong drink at half the price you'd pay for it somewhere else.

I'll be back this weekend, and I'll recommend it to you too!

Ron's is a great place. I have been a regular at Ron's Pub for 4 years. I first walked into the place after buying a house in Briargrove and simply fell in love with the laidback, living room-like, vibe. The other regulars are cordial, informed, educated and quite diverse. Even after moving several miles away from Ron's, I still stop in now in then to wait out traffic and catch up with friends, both old and new.

The reason behind my writing this review is not that I am a regular reviewer of things on Citysearch, nor is it because I beleive my opinion is any better than anyone else's. To wit, the reason why I write this review is the perhaps wrongly placed anger and hostility I see seething from the acidy keystrokes of drunk angry individuals who might better be served by zoloft rather than their beer of choice. Ron's is a good place. You can bring your dog there. That's a good thing. I've never seen a situation involving indoor soiling. If you want a decent hangout that's not a frat boy dream, try Ron's. Just do NOT attempt to beat RICE at trivia. That's all I ask.

Great place with a lot of Charm!. First of all, I can't believe the person who is writing the review about Ron's pub and the Obama supporters . I am appalled that someone has the nerve to even talk about this as a US Citizen. I am sorry that the one who wrote this was a repbulican and broke out a knife on the night of the election. I think the funniest part about it all is that he Bootlegs Cigs!!!!!

Ron's pub is a GREAT place with alot of charm. I can't think of a place in Houston where everyone feels welcomed. I think the staff is great, Edie is delightful, and Julie is so understanding to one's concerns. I hope that the people that read the reviews on here understand that moron that wrote Obama Smashing review, has been BANNED from the pub!

Strange customer service. Good bar, good crowd, plenty of things to do and most of the bartenders are quite friendly. Surprisingly, not all of the bartenders are attentive to their customers' needs. The bar was only relatively busy, but I had to wait for approx. 20 minutes to draw one bartender's attention who finally looked at me, I started to speak, and he just passed by as if I was not there (he didn't say anything and never came back).

I decided not to stay there any longer.
