Great italian food. The wife and I love this place. We like being able to sit back, relax and have time to ourselves when we are there. Good food and a nice evening atmosphere. Never had to wait for a table. All I have to do is concentrate on her when im there.

Best of the Best. As a native Houstonian who has traveled the world (including New York and Chicago for the yanks who think the only good Italian food can be found there) ... well, Antonio's can hold it's own with the best. Why? Well, one thing is Mr. Antonio came from NY a zilliion years ago and is a perfectionist chef... 2) he hand picks his own produce and meats 3) the cheese vendors can't stand him ... as he he makes and ages his own mozarella on premise... 4) all bread and hand tossed pizza dough made on site and ... get this - no indigestion as he preboils acid out of the tomatoes before adding to homemade sauce. The pizza is awesome as are the pasta dishes ... salads always cold/fresh and not a sprig of imperfect vegetables. Good wine choices at reasonable prices. And if you have kids - well getting a big giant floppin pizza dough thrown on your heads is better than catching a fly ball at an Astros game. Any cons - you may have to wait in line if you get there late ... servers are a little slow at times. As far as the other comments where people said the owners or their daughters were rude ... well - if they were rude you probably deserved it as this family run restaurant is "well run" and has a great family ... get to know them! In case you think I am some Italian buddy of the Antonios ,.. I am not ... Scots-Irish/ German and he still greets my grown daughter with "ciao bella" and has since she was a little girl.

Good Food Sorry Service. I've been going to Antonio's for years because they do have good pizza and food. Unfortunately their service is pathetic. The hostess is rude and comes off as a snob. The owner is also about as bad. They've had many opportunities to prove otherwise but they're always the same - rude and snobby. They never apologize for their (hostess and/or waiter's) mistakes and always make it seem like it's the customer's fault when it's not. I know a few others who have gone there in the past with the same results and many just don't bother to return.

You gotta love this place!. I grew up eating home-cooked Italien food. Antonio's is the real deal. Its a cozy, family-style, unpretentious kind of place that feels homey. Antonio's is like coming home to family to me. Bring an appetite, you're gonna need it. Plan to spend some time nursing a glass of wine and enjoying the awesome food. Trust me, you won't be able to make up your mind what to eat. Strike up a conversation with Antonio and listen to his stories of the old days--you might learn a thing or two. While you're at it, check out the new wine room in back. Nice quiet room for a romantic date. His daughter Antonella is the best hostess in Houston and will make you feel right at home. You gotta problem wid dat? :) Make Antonio's your home too. Bring some friends, eat and then eat some more. You won't be disappointed--you'll be stuffed!--but coming back for more! Buon appetito!

I wish I could give NO stars. First, they are rude. Extremely rude. Second, they serve cheap French-style Vietnamese baguettes (available at Vietnamese bakeries for 10/$1) in place of authentic crusty Italian bread. Third, the waiters are CLUELESS and do not know anything about Italian cuisine much less the pronunciation of words. Fourth, a panini at Antonio's is not actually a panini and once again, is served on cheap Vietnamese baguettes. Fifth, their ingredients sit in their freezer for too long. Everything was stale or about to expire. Crab should not be served stale!!! Sixth, no one came to offer dish replacements when we said "this is not fresh and tastes horrible". We waited 15 minutes for a manager that never showed. Finally, we just left our uneaten plates on the table and got up to leave. The manager/hostess/owner's daughter finally said "Oh I was just about to come over". Then the owner came out and started yelling that we must have bad taste in food and "Why don't you just let your mother cook for you!" when all I was doing was trying to give constructive criticism like "panini's should be made with italian bread, and crab should never be served after having freezer burn". Also, my friend and I each had one bite of each other's dish before we decided they both dishes were inedible. The owner wanted us to pay for half the meal saying "you can't just come in here for a free ride". HORRIBLE experience. Anyone that likes this restaurant has never had good food. It looked like all their patrons were the kinds that don't know how to boil water.

Times are a changin'. The owner was rude along with the hostess. We sat next to the bar. A server made a mistake and we spent the rest of our meal listening to the owner berate the server. My daughter learned some 4 letter words that night. NOT A FAMILY RESTAURANT.....Why give your business to someone that doesn't even care about the comfort of his patrons? The owner and hostess/cashier made our party of 8 feel like they were doing us a favor by coming to eat at this establishment. There are plenty of great places to eat in Houston....cross Antonio's off your list.

Do Not go in a group. First time customer and will not return. Hostess very rude and lectured our group. We were clearly not welcome there even if we had called ahead. They will not seat groups or split bills. They would have been happy if we would have walked right back out and not given them any of our business. How can any restaurant afford to turn down paying customers in today's economy and multiple venue choices?!!! They were not busy even during lunch hr. Could that be a sign?

Best pizza. I grew up eating pizza at Antonio's. It is awesome. The best in town. The pizza is not cheap but soooo good. I usually get it to go because otherwise you end up with not so great service from a waiter that reminds you of Furio from the Sopranos.
