I went to the Southwells on Taylor and all I can say is GROSS!!!!!!!! I could have gone to White Castle; which I don't even consider food fit for human consumption, I would have saved a few dollars and had a better meal. The thin leaf of lettuce that was on my "burger" was thicker than the patty itself with a soggy flat bun and they gave me the soggiest thinnest excuse for fries I have ever seen YUCK!!!! I could have had dirt off of the sidewalk that would have been more substantial. It was DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!! I will never go back again nor will I recommend them to ANYONE else. Great service but terrible food!!!!!

These Burgers are the BEST!. I have no idea what the negative reviewer was talking about! These are GREAT burgers and GREAT service! If you don’t arrive at the Southwell’s in Texas Medical Center right at 11am you can expect a line of customers all most out the door every day! Even with an extremely high customer level, the guys who work there are very accurate and fast with the orders. I have never had a bad experience or bad burger from there! The Veggie burger and the Grilled ham sandwich are also excellent choices when your not in the mood for a big heavy beef burger. I also have co-workers who will send me to Southwell’s just to pick up one of their amazing Chocolate Shakes that are very addictive! I suggest this place to EVERY one that I talk to who is looking for a good burger joint close to the hospitals.

Was that a hamburger??. I am really disappointed but I guess I should have expected it. Anytime you walk into a place and it's completely deserted that could be a bad sign. For a second I was wondering if the employees had left too but out popped a cashier to take my order. Should was nice enough. The menu had a lot of great and promising choices on it and I went with the Blue Cheese burger with some added avocado and an order of waffle fries. The fries were great. Crisp and tasty. The burger...not so much. Everything on the burger tasted good but the meat itself was horrible. It was a tasteless piece of preformed meat like substance. A little chewy and way too thin. I would have been embarrassed to serve that thing. If it wouldn't have been for the generous amount of blue cheese and avocado I would not have been able to eat it. In fact I should have just taken the meat out. I may stop by to pick up an order of waffle fries but I wouldn't eat the burger again on a bet.

NEED A WEBSITE!!!!. Good burgers, but you need a website!!! C'mon you have 3 locations and no menu online??? what is this!!!

Excellent Food,Great Service. I LOVE this place-from the "old-fashion" style to the brownies! I have been in here about 4 times in the past 2 months and I just have to say that I cannot get enough. The avocado burger is excellent and waffle fries are awesome. Adam is the guy I always see when I walk in after work and he is always very cordial! I tell everyone about this place and I will def. be returning for more good food!

Best Burgers and Fries around. I was driving in the area looking for something good for dinner and spotted Southwell's. I asked someone going into the restruant about the burgers and quality of food. They told me that the burgers were awesome and the best in the area. I had to give it a try and I'll say that I wasn't disappointed. Wonderful burgers and great fries. You can't go wrong!

The best burger and chicken sandwich in Houston BY FAR!!!!!!!!!!!. I'm not sure why this place was only given a 8.6 so far while tons of fast food burger joints were rated 9.5 or higher. Southwells makes one of the best burgers I have ever tasted, the best in Houston by far. I have been to Lankfords, Beck's Prime, Prince's, ect and I can say none of them hold a candle to Southwells. Get a burger, fries, and a large drink for around 7$. The chicken sandwich is also amazing, but I can rarely bring myself to skip the burger. Trust me folks, GO TO SOUTHWELLS, you will not be sorry.

Chicken Supreme, Fast. Southwell's Chicken Supreme is out of this world. The slices of bacon they put on the sandwich is very tasty and crunchy, not fatty and soggy like what you would expect from other burger places. The waffle fries are extremely tasty. They come with seasoned salt on them which makes them great even without ketchup. You order at the counter but they bring you your food and they bring it to you really fast. It's great for a quick lunch without the fast food quality.

Classic. Southwell's is great for a laid-back, casual meal that includes good ole' classic burgers and fries. The chicken sandwich is great too. My only complaint is that the side of fries is too small. Great for kids and for busy or dirty-kids days.
