Miyako Japanese Restaurant & Sushi Bar
Owner
Miyako is one of the largest established Japanese Restaurants boasting three locations in the Greater Houston Area, and one opening in Pearland, Texas in 2005. Meticulous thought and consideration go into every aspect of preparing each of the delectable dishes on the menu, from choosing the most authentic, highest grade ingredients, to hiring the best chefs in the industry to prepare them.
Miyako chefs have over 10 years of expertise in preparing Japanese cuisine. Each day, the Head Chef carefully inspects newly delivered fish, before having it delivered to other Miyakos in Houston. In this way, Miyako guarantees freshness and the best-tasting Japanese cuisine in Houston.

In Short
After 20-plus years, Miyako still corrals a ravenous after-work crowd of sushi-loving bargain shoppers. The traditional Japanese setting--starring a roomy sushi bar--makes it feel less like a chain. Bargain-priced sushi can be a satisfyingly economical lunch (or not, depending on your capacity for maguro and other such delicacies). Order from the all-day happy hour menu, which lists dirt-cheap prices for a selected assortment of rolls.

I would give this place 0 stars if I had the option. When I was in college it tasted great (~12 yrs ago that's when I was introduced to sushi), but with all the new sushi restaurants popping up left and right I haven't been back for a while. My last visit will be my last. My husband and I came out feeling sick eating their sushi, he comes from a Japanese background. The sushi was not fresh at all. I do not recommend this place at all, there are so many other sushi restaurants out there now that is so much better. Miyako is just a chain restuarant and I forgot to mention the service was horrible.
