“We love this location!”
“The food left much to do be desired, and the service was terrible.”
“This is a nice and clean mexican restaurant with a good atmosphere.”
“The food is great and has great customer service.”
Houston's worst Mexican food. Why does anyone go here? The food is horrible! I have been trying to like this place because people from my neighborhood go there. The beef fajitas are the worst I have ever eaten. Can someone tell me what is really good so I can stop wasting my money?
Average restaurant in a great location. We went to meet friends for Sunday brunch. Being next-door to Second Baptist on a Sunday, good luck! There was no place to park. The restaurant tables are extremely small, which made for a crowded table. The noise level was so loud, it was difficult to have a decent conversation. The staff just wants you to order, eat, and get out. The refills on the coffee didn't come; we had to request same. With so many great restaurants in Houston, I'd be hard pressed to come back.
Wouldn't go back on a bet. We went to this Escalante's before we had a meeting in the area. It was terrible! The place was noisy, uncomfortable and when I left I felt slightly greasy. The food left much to do be desired, and the service was terrible. The only person on the staff who seemed to do their job adequately is the guy whose job it is to refill the salsa containers on your table. Not recommended!
Editorial Review by Citysearch Staff. Slightly more upscale than the average Houston Tex-Mex restaurant, expect fresh ingredients, authentic menu items and a festive atmosphere.
Great Rehearsal Dinner!.
We just had a wedding rehearsal dinner for 45 people at the Town and Country location. Everything was PERFECT!! Patrick Torres, himself was there to watch over the event and make sure everything went smoothly. The waiters were on top of everything! The wedding party loved the ritas and thought the chicken enchiladas with roasted corn sauce were amazing. We rolled out barely able to finish the delicious tres leches and sopapillas. The food has a unique flavor that left many returning the Sunday after the wedding to get more before catching flights home. The Town and Country location has a great ambiance and party room for such an event. Even all the pictures taken came out colorful and festive!!
You can't lose having an event there!!
