Southern-fried comfort food in a homey, late-night setting..
The Scene
A spacious, multiroomed dwelling with cozy booths and hardwood floors reminiscent of Mom's house, complete with heaping helpings of down-home cooking.
The Food
The fried mushrooms are a delight, with just enough salt in the batter to liven them up and with plenty of ranch dressing, honey-mustard and thick cream gravy to baptize the tasty appetizers in flavor. Mama's wildly popular meat loaf is served with a chunky Creole sauce. The Sancho Panza's chopped sirloin is stuffed with jalapenos and covered in cheese for a full-force flavor. The standout entree, however, is the pot roast: The beef on this biweekly special breaks apart more readily than good brisket, its robust brown sauce heightening the beefy flavor with unparalleled zeal.

Good casual.... A good casual place for comfort food. The turkey sandwich with melted cheese always hits the spot for me.

good late night munchies!. this is a great 'greasy spoon' late at night. breakfast pancakes are awesome! burgers and fries excellent too. service is good!

Best Flapjacks in Texas. After a late night on the town and need some carbs to get through the night, you must have the pancakes with the delicious maple syrup. The syrup comes out hot so you need to puncture the "film" to get the flow going. They are awesome!

Love this place!. I have eaten here at all times of the day and week and have never had a bad experience. This is one of the greats in the Houston area!!

Value Seeker. This is the place to get real home cookin' at a great price. Best value in town. Sorry I now live in Dallas and can't make it in to enjoy as much as I would like.

Don't waist your time!. I have eaten at this restaurant twice in the past month. Once on a weekend morning and the other was a weekday evening (10 pm). Both times I have experience slow and terrible service. I had two different waiters on both visits and they both did a terrible job, not even really caring. The food was just ok, but if you are concerned with service, you may think twice about eating here.

EGGS HAFBREAU!!! Yes!. It's AWSOME! You have to try the Huevos Hafbreau. They are the best eggs in town!!!!

Mama Needs a Bath!. Yuck! The interior needed on overall SCRUB.....along with most of the servers! Ordering the "Texas Burger" is no difference from going to a school cafeteria. Cold buns, wilted lettuce, and a generous helping of TWO pickle slices! Don't go!!
