Yes the interiors are lovely and elegant, but the food is not up to par. Perhaps I ordered wrong but thought the "specials" would be a good bet. I was disappointed with the smoked duck on bean sprouts, the duck lacked that duck taste! I've tasted better duck from divey Chinatown places that have the food hanging in the window! $3.75 for a small cup of wonton soup? Yikes! Sorry this is one place I will not recommend.

I really love the food and the atmosphere is very nice as well. The price is still too high though. I dont mind spending it on occasion as I do feel like it is superior food to almost all other restaurants in Houston, but they should just drop the dishes by a couple bucks a piece. The staff could be a little more friendly as well

Service could be better, but most of dishes couldn't! Return of the PHoenix is the best of an excellent array of house specialties and the soups are must (hot and sour is my favorite). A little pricier than rated, but affordable for locale.
