“On top of that the food wasn't that good either and the bus boy/ tea re-filler was fat and wearing a fruit of the loom white t-shirt as his uniform.”
“This is good food at an affordable price.”
“or just drive to Lai Lai's, clearly the best place ever.”
“Great service.”
“Good chinese food, great price”
“have been searching for the best Chinese Cuisine for a very long time and discovered it about three years ago.”
Somethings are Bad & others really Bad. went here for lunch and was not happy with the food quality or taste. Fried rice with no veggie's & extremely dry (3 day old dry), no spice & flavor in the seseme chicken, green beans looked as if they were wilted before cooking and last but not least the carrot & snow pea in my Wonton soup tasted dirty, unwashed. $7.95 lunch special on this poor quality food is expensive. Down the street are several other locatins Hunan King & Panda Garden with lunch specials at $4.95 and are way better than Red Pepper.
Fantastic Chinese Restaurant.
Fantastic food! Yummy! The best service!
This is the best Chinese restaurant in the city. The food is perfect every time and they serve brown rice. The green beans are over the top incredible. I've eaten here over the years and I've always had a great experience. If you're looking for a superior Chinese restaurant - This is it!
Delicious! Impeccable Service!.
Great place to relax and enjoy wonderful Chinese food. Service is excellent. Decor is pleasant and sophisticated. Wait staff is friendly and attentive. My Gen Tso Chicken was absolutely done right and delicious!
Enjoyed this little gem already on several occasions and always they have shown me consistent quality and service.
Thanks guys. I will be back.
Better than Panda Express.
This is my go-to place for Westernized Chinese food. It tastes better than Panda Express (less time under a heat lamp AND it's not as salty) and it's a better bang for your buck. Great dishes: the New-Ze Chicken, the Eggplant in Garlic Salt with pork, the MooShoo Chicken...can't remember what else I've had there.
Yes, the decor is very outdated...but it makes for a fun date-night.
yeah don't go here please i wouldn't lie to you..
There's not much I can say about this place, here's what happened...
I was driving around trying to find a chinese place to go to and there it was "RED PEPPAH! " so whatever we go in and the WHOLE place is covered with mirrors and the parts that aren't look really "dim white" and its really depressing. So we sit and there's a couple "well dressed, mid-40's looking white people" so we're like ok this can't be that bad....and it wasn't....but i mean that's not saying i liked it....i dont know the whole experience was just bad...the place is uninviting and the food is JUST alright. Also since there's mirrors everywhere you can see what everyone in the restaurant is doing hah. so yeah I'd go somewhere else....if you drive farther down on westheimer (away from the galleria) you're going to see "dumpling king"...go there...i haven't been but i bet its better. or just drive to Lai Lai's, clearly the best place ever.
#5 - Chick, Shrimp, Cashews w/ Roach on Top!!!. About halfway through my #5 (lunch menu) I discovered a roach mixed in w/ my chicken, shrimp and cashews! DISGUSTING!!! It was small and the most disgusting thing ever!!! On top of that the food wasn't that good either and the bus boy/ tea re-filler was fat and wearing a fruit of the loom white t-shirt as his uniform. Luckily for the Red Pepper I was with customers that love the place, so I didn't make a scene, but will gladly spread my disgust any way I can now. Don't ever go there!
Cat Food. Quick Chinese food is never a culinary delight, but it should be edible. The egg rolls were overcooked and the filling was a glutinous mess. The chicken entre tasted like cat food and the rice was dried out. The fortune cookie should have said, “You will have indigestion for several days.”
Good chinese food, great price.
I love Red Pepper's Tangy and Spicy chicken. And their pan fried pork dumplings (with the ginger dipping sauce) are dee-lish! The green beans they serve with each meal are awesome too! This is good food at an affordable price. The chicken is really chicken, and white meat at that. I have yet to see any mystery meat in the dishes I have ordered from their restaurant.
It is a wonderful little restaurant, that offers free delivery and delicious food.
GREEN chicken & Terrible service....read before eating. I placed a large delivery order from Red Pepper, including popular garlic chicken, chicken & broccoli, etc for a movie night at my house with friends. Needless to say, I smelled the order before it even came to my door from the elevator bank. The chicken was absolutely gag reflexive. I have never smelled anything so horrible in terms of food. The people in my building lobby were complaining of the smell. I promptly called the restaurant and was told the manager would call me back momentarily. He called back 2 hours later, and I explained to him what had transpired. He told me he would send someone to pick up my food, and have his waiters in the restaurant taste it to see if it was really bad. WHAT?!? The driver showed up an hour later, picked up the food, and the manager called to say SOME of the dishes were questionable, but others were ok. He would not refund my money, but rather give me credit on future orders, but ONLY for those dishes HE thought were not up to par. That was 2 of 8 mind you. He then said he would have the driver bring back the ones he thought were not 'spoiled'. Hope that helps some of you in your decision to opt for another Chinese venue.
Worst Food Ever. This restaurant had the worst Chinese food ever!!!! My company order several dinners from this restaurant and the service and the food were disgusting. The dinner prices were around 10-11 dollars and they were served in lunch portion trays. The lo Mien was chewy and the egg rolls tasted more like spring rolls. The General Tso Chicken was burnt and chewy and not spicy at all. The broccoli in the shrimp and broccoli and chicken and broccoli was uncooked and the wonton soup didn't have any taste. The best thing about this restaurant was the fortune cookies and one of them were open when we got them. On top of that when we called to complain the so called supervisor informed me that he would not give us our money back and he would not give us the name of his supervisor. This is the worst experience I have ever had. Please do not waste your time or your money!!!!
