Tips for Chinese Cafe

December 03, 2012

Very bad service and unhealthy food. Way too much sodium and oil. Best choice for MSG ans Salt. It seems all menu items look the same and cooked with the same sauce! Today, I ordered fried noodle for lunch. A lot of orders before me have been delivered. I asked the frond desk whether my order had been placed. She told me IT iS NOT YOUR TURN YET. I have to wait for 20 min to get it. When I got it, I ask her is there a side soup which is usually free in other restaurants. She replied me with "MONEY". Very bad attitude. Would not recommend this place at all.

Chinese serve good food, but poor attitude.. Generally inconsiderate and difficult. Pretty much take their customers for granet. Maybe they just want to serve the Chinese?

Chinese Food at it's finest!. Chinese Cafe doesn't taste like your typical Chinese delivery place! The food was amazing! I highly recommend the sweet and sour chicken as a starting dish! Mainly so you can see the difference between excellence and your typical run of the mill delivery place. I usually judge a Chinese restaurant by the clientele.. the majority of the customers were Asian so I knew I was in for a real treat!!

A favorite of area students and the business set for authentic Chinese cuisine at affordable prices.. In Short
Ultra-casual order-at-the-counter, self-serve restaurant for dependable Chinese fare at lunch or dinner. Menu favorites include the hot and sour soup; special fried rice with shrimp, pork and plenty of veggies; kung pao chicken; twice-cooked pork; chicken with black mushrooms and spinach; and beef with broccoli. If you're not sure what to order, the photos on the wall are an accurate representation of the authentic offerings. There's a special diet menu available, and the restaurant doesn't serve beer or alcohol.

Authentic Food. I think if you go to any resturaunt in Houston eventually you will be disappointed. Chinese Cafe generally provides consistently authentic Chinese food. I am not chinese but have found the attendants to be nice enough. I think there is a slight language barrier. I always enjoy the diet shrimp and snow peas, the best hot and sour soup I have ever had and deliciously decadent fried rice which is even better if you pay a dollar or two extra for double meat. I wish they would keep there bathrooms clean though, I almost lost my appetite the last time I went. This is still one of my old standbys.

Unfriendly service. I've been to this restaurant 4 or 5 times in the past 6 months and I will never go here again. Each and every time the person behind the cash register that takes the order is rude and unfriendly. I asked if I could replace the hot and sour soup with egg drop and the lady shouted "NO! NO substitutions!". There is really no reason to yell at a customer, especially when it is not posted anywhere that substitutions are not allowed. I will not be returning to this restaurant. I found another place nearby where the food is just as good and the staff is friendlier.

Chinese Cafe. The food is outstanding, the portions are perfect and everything has a distinct wonderful taste to it. The fried dumplings (pot stickers) are the best. If your looking for great Chinese food at a reasonable price this is the place.
