Editorial Review for Simposio – by Andrea Loera

In Short
Elegantly appointed, the upscale dining room is decorated in earthy tones of brown and rust with leather and natural stone accents. The room hosts tables of professionals and appreciators of authentic Northern Italian fare, who sample the rustic flavors of slow-braised meats, hearty pastas and expertly cooked seafood. Menu favorites include the house salad with a mix of arugula, endive, portobellos, fennel and Parmesan; creamy risottos; veal-stuffed ravioli; and seafood soup with grilled garlic bread.

What a lovely restaurant. We went for Sunday Brunch (which features bottomless mimosas) and were completely delighted with our experience. The Eggs Benedict were perfect ! The Lobster Ravioli was in a lovely lemon cream sauce that I could have eaten with a spoon if it wasn't so rich. The pianist on the Baby Grand just added to the overall ambience we were seeking on Sunday Morning. We will definitely return - many times.

Pros: A lovely, elegant dining experience.

Cons: Parking is sparce

The restaurant although quaint, and modest - has an excellent staff that knows their way around wine recommendations. The menu offers lovely dishes, but my favorite is the risotto. Simply delectable, with a savory Osso Bucco sauce and small pieces of Osso Bucco - lovely with the Chianti resommended by the server. I could tell the locals love it there too, servers and hosts called out their names with warm welcomes when they entered. Loved it!

Pros: menu selections, wine selections, and the Bar

Cons: none
