“Standing in a cold white hallway for 30+ minutes is not the ideal beginning to a relaxing brunch.”
WELL WORTH THE VISIT. I had been hearing about the Cheesecake Factory on my job by some co-workers for about 3 years now. I finally was convinced to drive down to Houston to try it. The only thing that was a challenge was trying to find the place at the IMMENSE Galleria Houston location. Its hidden because its like you actually are exiting the place before you find the location and along with that, its on the second level of this 4 story mall. Besides that, I went on a very busy Thursday afternoon during the middle of the lunch rush after 1 30 PM, but pleasantly, THERE WERE NO INCONVENIENCES and at this time I would have expected it at its worst, but it wasnt. Everyone was helpful from when i wanted to find a restroom to wash my hands to explaining the menu. I ordered the New Orleans Shrimp and the Honey Glazed Chicken and a side of the Banana Cream Cheesecake. My waiter was so friendly, he came to the table as soon as I got there. I was pleased with this experience. As soon as my strawberry lemonade was empty, there was someone there to replace it. I had a seat right next to a lady and her baby or grandbaby and I noticed a waiter equally as friendly and informative assisting her as well. The tab was kinda pricey, but it was a treat and treats are always pricey. LOL
11/13/11.
Horrible service tried to seat me at a table where I would have had to have one guest move to sit down. I would not have been able to get up from table at all. Their chair touching my table!
Ask to sit at another table host was very pleasant had someone clean table.
Then the POOR OR NO SERVICE Begins. 10 minutes numerous wait staff past by no one notices no drink or anyone realizing no one waiting on me. The another 15 minutes to get order. Waitress MIA AGAIN! No apology for at first not realizing she had a table!!
Second time in town for business to try THIS cheesecake factory NEVER AGAIN!!! Customer Service Training definitely needed here.
This was at 9:15 pm. Not peak dinner hours!!!!
Poor Service. We arrived at about 6:30 and were told it was going to be a 20 minute wait, when we went to ask about our table 30 minutes later they told us we were next and it would be just a few minutes more, we ended up being seated at 7:30, three times longer than we were originally quoted. On top of the extremely unacceptable wait time the waitress was inattentive, and slow to bring drinks or refills. Also the main course came before the appetizer. In my opinion the food is not worth the wait or the horrible service.
thumbs up.
great place to take the wife! went there recently for our anniversary and we came out happily! definitely going to come back!
best cheesecakes in town!
Exciting Cheesecakes. When I crave something really decadent, I automatically think of The Cheesecake Factory...I mean, who doesn't? It has a plethora of desserts to choose from. They specialize in cheesecake but also carry other favorites like pies and cakes. If you're a cheesecake fan, I strongly recommend you coming here. They have flavors such as Turtle and Oreo cheesecakes. The wait is usually long on the weekends but it's well worth it.
Great restaurant all around. Each time I dine here, I'm very satisfied. Yes, at peak times the wait can be up to 2 hrs. But people...it's a peak time. That's a busy time. Don't like it? Don't go when it's busy. I always go at lunch, just before peak time, or late at night for dessert. I've had a few bad experiences, but most of the time when I've eaten here, it's been great. We just ate here the other day, had a wonderful waiter, and the food was outstanding! I had chicken bellagio, and let me tell you, pasta just doesn't taste the same when you reheat it. Never again will I make that mistake! My husband got the bbq bacon cheeseburger, and could hardly finish the burger. Portions are huge, and I mean that! We split their red velvet cheesecake at home, and wow...talk about good. Not my favorite cheesecake of theirs by any means, but good! My recs for cheesecake? original with fresh strawberry or chocolate tuxedo cream. My rec for entree...chicken madeira, or shepherds pie. Yum! Eat here...it's great.
Terrible experience.
For being so crowded, there were only two waiting benches. Then after an hour wait, I could barely get through the front area to follow my waiter to our table. Once at our table, the waiter took his sweet time taking our drink orders. Then took even longer to come back to take our food orders. We were with a large group and everybody got their food except for me and my mom. The manager came and said he doesn't know what happened to the order. I wasn't irritated at all and said that was fine and thanked him for telling us. I had no problem waiting a little longer. Mistakes happen. So our food (chicken piccata) was brought to us and the noodle were very hard. So hard that my toddler son choked ok it. I did not enjoy it and did not finish it. I actually felt sick afterwards.
I ordered a slice of red velvet cheesecake to eat once I got home. I did not like it at all. The red velvet cake layers were very dry and the cheese cake was whipped too much. I actually mistaked it for icing at first. It was also way too sweet.
I don't think I'll be going back here again. For the price, the service was mediocre at best and the food was not good.
I Think they Changed Management. Horrible service. Next time I will drive to the one in the Woodlands because this one is horrible. My food had a large piece of paper in it. I had to wait for my waiter for 15 minutes (no joke) to get the food back. By that time the rest of the people on the table had finished eating. Finally the waiter came and I told him about the paper, I even showed it to him but it had no affect on him. Then he came back and said "I'm going to get this off the bill" and I felt better about it, but when he brought the bill, it had my entree on it. I was so mad. Eventually he got me another entree but since my party had eaten, I had to get it in a to-go box. Waste of my time. I would not recommend this to anyone in Houston. Spend a little more on gas and go to the one in the Woodlands.
Decadent cheesecakes and classic American cuisine makes this a popular chain..
In Short
Faux-rustic finishes and colorful light fixtures abound at this almost always crowded chain. The thick-as-a-book menu features Americanized versions of worldly cuisines--Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai--but succeeds best with American classics. Burgers are a good choice, especially the ""Roadside Sliders,"" mini burgers served as appetizers. The myriad cheesecakes are over-the-top in concept and decadence. You'll leave full, with leftovers.
Good Dessert. That's about it.. I enjoy their desserts but nothing else. The wait is always long, the servers are a bit slow and sometimes dumb if you ask me. The food portions are big but not that tasty. It's just an OK restaurant.
