Waste of Time

Melanie was my recruiter. I had already talked to the employer and he decided it would be better if I signed up with Robert Half and then have the law firm hire me through them. I agreed and went to their office downtown and filled out their paperwork. I took some tests and signed some things. I was then told to sit in the lobby to wait for my test results. About half an hour went by, and so I couldn't figure out what was taking so long since the test was automatically graded by the computer. I asked the receptionist if she could tell Melanie I needed to leave, but the receptionist couldn't find Melanie in the office. When she finally did find her she told me to wait in this little conference room so I could get my results. I sat there for at least an hour before she came in and told me my score and thank you and welcome. She even told me how much I was going to be making. I had waited for almost 2 hours so she could talk to me for about 3 minutes. I went to work right away and worked for about 3 days before the law firm told me Robert Half had refused to hire me. Melanie didn't even bother to call me herself. The law firm ended up hiring me directly, which caused a big problem for them since I had been working already and no one was checking my time. Melanie never called me and was never available when I called her. She never returned any of my calls either. She was very unprofessional and reminded me of a used car salesman. I would never recommend this agency to anyone.

Very manipulative company. This lady proves it. She tries to cut a deal with you, telling you that she will find you exactly the job you need as long as you do not contact another recruiter. Weeks and weeks later, you will be lucky to even get a phone call from her. I received one interview while working with her. After about a month I decided to start looking on my own again and I got 3 interviews on my own and ALL from companies she told me she had contacted. And granted, many companies have a freeze on hiring right now, but I was actually trying to get a job when accountants were the second highest in demand (next to mechanical engineers).
- Pros: nothing
- Cons: complete waste of time.
