Quaint Cottage?.
From the HoustonPress review I was expecting Millie's to be some dirty daunting joint - but I almost missed it because it looked more like a quaint country cottage. That was almost alliteration right there.
Upon entering, there were 3 people - Millie, Millie's daughter, and some other dude. The bar is kind of shaped weird so I couldn't tell if they were working or if they were just patrons... my confusion soon passed as Millie's daughter asked me what I wanted to drink. I hung out for a while and chatted - Millie showed me the massive backyard... they explained that if you danced while your hand was on the wall you got to sign it... and a few other random tidbits about the bar. I asked about a guy with a tattood face and bruises on his arms that may have been there (based on the press review) and they said they had no idea what I was talking about and that they knew everyone that came in there. Needless to say, I think the Press exaggerated this one.
When it was time to go I tossed my credit card on the bar and was informed that credit cards were not accepted. I had a dollar and a couple pennies in my pocket so I tossed that up there and asked what that would get me. She smiled and said it was on her. Pretty good folks.
