Worst Groomer EVER. I am so disappointed with my experience at Auburn Kennels. Upon arrival we talked with the groomer about what we would like done to our Golden Retriever. He said that he would take half of her hair off - her hair had gotten extremely long. When we picked her up, our dog was unrecognizable. My husband had to check her teeth to unsure that she was really our dog. The groomer had used a razor with a 4 guard to shave our beautiful Golden Retriever! The groomer claimed that we had discussed him using a 4 guard on her. No such thing was said. To add insult to injury, the cost was nearly DOUBLE what was quoted to us on the phone. We are severely disappointed and will never, ever be giving this place business again. If I could give this place less than one star, I would.

5 out of 5! Excellent. My wife and I decided to board our dogs at Auburn Kennels while we took our 40th anniversary trip. Our animals received wonderful care and we really felt comfortable leaving our pets( two very sweet dogs and one opinionated cat) with an established(since 1984) , family owned and run kennel. We wanted to write this review in order to appropriately thank Auburn Kennels and it's staff for taking care of our animals and allowing us to take our special vacation without any worry.

Thank you,

Greg and Diane

Cool Place, They Love My Dogs Like Their Own!!!. Loved how they treated my dogs. When I picked my dogs up they didn't want to leave and the employees all seemed to really bond with them. Auburn is what I'm looking for in a kennel because the dogs are treated like family, just like I treat my dogs. I feel so safe leaving them there, they have such a good time, its like they're at doggy camp. I left my guys at Auburn while I was away on business for three weeks and had no problems. My dogs weren't even happy to see me, they wanted to stay LOL!

Very Pleased. I was quite happy with my experience at Auburn Kennels. I boarded my two Border Collies there over the 4th of July and had no complaints. They exercise the animals three times a day and feed high quality dog food (admittedly better than I was feeding my dogs at the time until I switched to a brand they carried). Also, right next door is an animal clinic with five veterinary specialists. They have a very nice selection of all natural, premium dogs foods and the knowledgeable staff helped me pick the right kind for my dogs.

Bottom Line: I will absolutely be leaving my animals at Auburn Kennels in the future because I found the staff endearing and the level of care for my dogs very high.

My dog died of pneumonia after boarding at Auburn Kennels. I boarded my dog at Auburn Kennels for two weeks. I picked him up last Wednesday and noticed he was coughing. I took him to my vet the next day and he was prescribed antibiotics. We saw another vet out of town on Sunday because my dog was so ill. That vet said my dog had pneumonia and he gave him some injections and stronger medication. I took my dog back to my vet yesterday (Monday) because he was not improving. They kept him overnight to treat him. They called me this morning to tell me he died sometime last night.

I have informed Auburn Kennels of the situation and that they should inform all pet owners who had pets boarded at the same time as my dog to watch their pets for any signs of illness. They said they were sorry about what happened, but they have had no other sick animals at their kennel. I hope this does not happen to anyone else.

Takes Good Care of My Animals. I am a traveling nurse and am frequently leaving my home in Houston. When I leave I always board at Auburn Kennels. I like the people, I like the way they care for my dog and cat, and I like the services they provide. Because I am away from my home for long periods of time, its is great to have a one stop shop for boarding, pet food, grooming, flea control, and treats at, what I consider to be, low prices. They are one of the few places in Houston that bathe and groom cats and I have been very satisfied with that service, especially taking into account the fact that my cat really hates getting a bath. My dog is always excited to go to Auburn, and he has really bonded with the people there. I feel peace at mind when I travel, because I know my animals are in the best hands.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."

Really Glad I Found Auburn Kennels. I have a lab and Maltese and both love Auburn. It's nice to see a family business in this corporation filled world. They really care about my animals and always ask about them when I'm in buying food( they have a great selection of all natural dog and cat foods) or flea control. I like that the animals get individually walked outside by a human being. I am not a fan of indoor/ outdoor cages( cages that have access to the outdoors) you see in many kennels these days, because nobody has to interact with the animals with indoor/outdoor cages. At Auburn Kennels, each animal gets taken outside three times a day, which ensures at least six walks a day( if you count taking the dog out and back in). I'm happy to have found a place that sincerely cares about my animals.

Amazing service and care for my animals!. I have been leaving my dogs at Auburn for a few years now and am very satisfied. The staff is so kind and genuinely excited when I bring my two labs in for boarding. As most know, this year Houston/Galveston sustained damage from Hurricane Ike and unfortunately so did my house. I was out of town during the hurricane and my dogs were at Auburn. Auburn Kennels took such great care of my animals during the devastation and as I repaired my house and I owe them a debt of gratitude. My two labs have a fun time at Auburn as well. When they are greeted by the staff they usually forget all of the training they've had and jump up and lick the employees faces. I had boarded my animals at other kennels in Houston before I used Auburn and never received the kind of care and family feel that Auburn provides. Auburn Kennels provides a safe and caring place for animals and I would highly recommend checking them out.

Sincerely.

Matt

Auburn Kennels - take your kennels up to the standard of the excellent high quality food you sell. Auburn Kennels is one a few places in Houston that sells excellent dog food that you will not find in a PetSmart or PetCo for sure. I congratulate them on that.

Their kennels, however are, in my opinion below average. They are old, dark and not very clean. Before you board your cat or dog there, I strongly suggest you show up announced and take a tour of where your pet wil be staying. If they won't let you, offering up any number of excuses, don't board your pet there.

It's time Auburn Kennels bring their boarding facilities up to the standard of the excellent dog food they sell.

poor service. I have used them several times and was always very pleased with the service. This time they cut my cats nipple very bad, which is not why I'm upset because it's a cat and they dont understand to be still when getting groomed. I'm upset because they did not tell me it happened and tried to hide it. Well the significant amount of red fluid and obvious pain my cat was in was more than enough for me to know that they knew. I would have been ok if they would have told me so i could have taken her to a vet for pain medicine and make sure if stiches were needed, also I could have known to cover my white microfiber suede couches which are now white with dark red splotches
