Our favorite hometown restaurant!. We have been eating at Cafe for years - at least 20 years, and we love it. I can't say how often I stop just to get the chips and salsa to take home or to work with me. And the sweet tea is great. The Gringo burger is the best burger they have. And the queso is great, especially w/ beef added. Sure, their food is greasy, but hey, it's just an old greasy mom-and-pop restaurant, not some fancy-shmancy place. We walk in and the waitress already knows what we want. That is what I call service.

ALWAYS DISGUSTING. Horrible horrible horrible! This place was good like 10 years ago for close take out but has since been taken over by what i think they consider new management. Its digusting, Swamp Thing working the register can't even spell "take out" much less get your order right. We decided to try it again after not eating there for a few years just because its close and there's not too much else around... long story short... queso was solid, chips stale, toast and gravy was missing, chicken over cooked, fries soggy, salad disgusting, and after a 15 minute drive back up there to get the rest of our order, we still came out with disgusting queso and apparently you don't get salsa from this so called MEXICAN food joint if you order one of their chicken baskets, even if you order queso and chips. Its disgusting, if your going out for mexican food you'd be much better off driving a few more minutes down 90 to Hectors in crosby, its in the kroger strip off 2100. Excellent service, excellent MEXICAN food and cheap. best queso in houston for sure. And the staff isn't compiled of brain dead gutter tramps like those working at cafe espanol. i'll eat dirt before i eat there again.

Hello Dissatisfied Customer,

I'm Zach, and I would like to say I am terribly sorry that you had a unsatisfactory experience with your trip to Cafe Espanol. We have not been taken over in any shape or form in the past 23 years. Please don't eat dirt, and please come back in, our waitstaff will be more than happy to help you and give you an A+ dining experience. Also, as far as the brain dead gutter tramps and swamp thing, please direct them to me, they will be great entertainment for our yearly Halloween contest.

Cafe Espanol. Everything is good. It is one of my favorite places to eat. If you are up for a challenge then try to gringo burger. It is the biggest hamburger ever. For a major challenge go for the double Gringo!
