TACKIEST LOW PAYING COMPANY. This company is run by foreigners who expect great workers for an extremely low wage. We're talking slave wages! How does a whooping $6.20 per hour sound to do all of the following:

1. Answer phones back to back

2. File

3. Scan

4. Fax

5. Email

6. Advanced in MS Word

7. Advanced in Excel

8. Advanced in Powerpoint

9. CLEAN UP for the company

10. Write professional letters/documents

11. Fluent in Spanish and English

12. Have a certificate as a Legal Secretary

13. Sort mail

14. Perform internet searches

15. Arrange meetings

I could go on and on as to my expectations for the EXTREMELY low hourly pay. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Not even a homeless person in need. For the numerous duties required(duties that don't fit within your job title such as CLEANING UP), for your expertise, you can expect $6.20 with NO benefits: no medical, no paid vacations, etc. You can expect not to receive any raises or appreciation for your slave labor. However, you can expect more and more duties on a daily basis.

There is a good side: If you are friends with or get in good with the black lady who does the interviewing, you can expect HUGE favors. She is in charge of who gets the positions. If you are professional, have proof of certificates/degrees, punctual, etc. she will either not find you any work or send you on an assignment such as the one mentioned above. This is a fact from word of mouth from her friends who spread the word to other employees.

I overheard one of her friends tell another, "Just tell L that I sent you and she'll hook you up! She hooked up my man for a position paying over $40,000 even though the company he went to stated no felonies. She put him on after he was released from prison. I told her the situation and she came through."

Another male stated, "Dude, I'm telling you they'll work with you. It don't matter that you served time for killing someone. They not supposed to because the City doesn't allow it, but A 1 won't report it if you have inside connections. My mother has a powerful position at the City of Houston. A 1 found me a nice little gig cause my mother helps them get contracts with COH. They watch out for me so my Tjones watch out for them..."

The word got around that one of the lady in charge friends keeps getting all the high paying positions even though she has proven time and time again not to be a great worker. She can't type, tell her bosses where they can get off at, misses work all the time, etc. which has led to her being fired over 5 times, but her friend, L, keeps getting her the top salary positions.

There are many cases such as these. This company is crooked! If you have a connection with a huge company, they will lie for you so you get a job. If you are a honest and hard worker, you may as well not waste your time.

Not only do I not recommend job seekers to work with this company, I would encourage smart business owners to go with a more professional agency.

Pretty good job placements. I think Lovey (front office lady) is great! She found me a temp to perm position within one week which is good given the current economic status. I have known 3 people that have went through A1 and were placed either in a county or city position. 1 person has been a temp at their job for over a year and the other 2 were only temps between 1-3 months before they were hired permanately. I am currently placed in a Harris County temp to perm position and I love it. Everyone at the office Im at is fighting for me to become permanent also. I think A1 does a great job!

Terrible Agency for temps.. No benifits. Gave me a few days work and then was in a communication black-out. No contact. Staff office misrepresents how their payroll process works, after-the-fact. ID is cheesy and embarrasing to show.

Not a professional company. They are very pro-client at the expense of their temps. The job they sent me to had already gone through 4 temps in a matter of months for the same position. Big Red Flag.

Not too friendly. The girl Monica who works there is not great at her job. She wont even return your calls. Once you are on an assignment you better like it becuase they wont move you anwhere else once they are making money off of you. I would say they are better then some agencies I know of but overall they are way below average
