Editorial Review for Annie's hamburgers – by Citysearch Editors

In Short
A Southwest Houston staple, Annie's may not focus much on decor, but their formula has made them a family favorite for decades. The simple menu features classic American fare, including breakfast with plate-sized pancakes and mammoth homemade biscuits. The house specialty is the bacon cheeseburger with just the right amount of smoky bacon and burger toppings. A side of crispy onion rings is a must.

I went to Bellaire High School and grew up going to Annies. I haven't had a burger since High School so I can't comment on the burgers but I can comment on the breakfast. Their breakfast is made to order and they have pretty good pancakes and eggs. I like the salsa they use with their breakfast tacos. The one negative for me is the place itself. It's old and dark. I also think it could use a good cleaning but overall it's a good quick breakfast. They do have the biggest biscuits around. They also have available hot maple syrup for their pancakes and waffles which is a nice touch for a whole in the wall place. If your in the area and you don't mind a dive then check it out. Nothing worth making a drive for in my opinion.

Pros: Huge fresh biscuits, Hot maple syrup, Good breakfast and quick service

Cons: Hole in the wall that needs an update and good cleaning.

I discovered Annie's by accident one day while filling my car up with gas. The next morning we came for breakfast and found it to be one of the best we've ever had. Sandra (the cashier) is always friendly and usually remembers our orders everytime we visit. I highly recommend this place! David Moore MIS Reliant Stadium
