I usually don't post on sites like this, but I wanted to share my WONDERFUL experience with this doctors office, especially Dr. Roz Nanda. Dr. Nanda has been my doctor for over 5 years and has always been kind and compassionate. I've even called in the middle of the night and she was very sweet and happy to help me. Last year I was having problems with very heavy bleeding and needed surgery, but had to postpone it since i lost my insurance. After seeing how miserable I was, and very concerned for my condition, Dr. Nanda actually offered to waive all her fees for the surgery!!!! I never imagined a doctor would be so caring and generous, but Dr. Nanda surely is!!!!!! Thanks to her and her associates, I feel like a new woman!!! On occasion I have seen other doctors in her office, and they have been equally as wonderful. It's sad that most people only find the time to say bad things, and after reading the previous comment, I was very upset.....money hungry?? I don't think a doctor waiving her fees could be categorized as such!! Rude?? Never!!!! I would entrust Dr. Nanda to care for any of my friends and family, she's the best :)

The WORST experience ever!! The entire staff especially Dr. Cook and Dr. Nanda are extremely unprofessional. Dr. Cook was "supposed" to be my doctor, however I must have only seen him about 3 times MAX during my pregnancy. He didn't even deliver me. His RUDE co-associate, Roz Nanda ended up delivering me along with a brand new doctor, Dr. Kelly, who I had probably seen 3-4 times prior to delivering my twin boys. They are very insensitive, abrasive, disrespectful, and money hungry. Worst bed side manners. Very sad, knowing that they are supposed to be educated, finessed individuals who have personal skills and the responsibility to care for their patients like humans....after all, isn't this the Oath all medical doctors take?

Best physician I've ever had, hands down!. I'd like to start off by saying I worked in the medical field for more than 20 years; spent many of those years working for the "big box" type of practices (multiple physicians - one specialty). Being an employee I had the opportunity to see any of the physicians in the practice, which I did, for a while. But that got old for a variety of reasons, accessibility to my records by other employees, the feeling that I "didn't matter" as a patient because I was an employee. Ultimately I decided to venture out and find a physician totally independent. Which lead me to Dr. Cook. I started with him when he was a solo practioner and it was love at first visit. The time he spent with me then as well as now is totally invaluable to me. When his practice grew and he added Mary Jane, his Nurse Practioner, I felt she was a perfect match for his calming demeanor. As an addition to his existing staff, she would only be beneficial to the continued success of the practice. When Dr.'s Nanda and Melham joined the practice, it seemed the "family" was complete. Yes, there are times when I have seen Mary Jane or one of the other doctors because Dr. Cook has been tied up, but honestly it happens every where. It's the "down side" if you will of any Ob/Gyn office, babies are born, emergencies happen. Much as we'd all like to see Dr. Cook and only Dr. Cook, things happen and they are no one's fault.

As I said I have a medical background (in the area of OB/Gyn) which means I have a better understanding, but never has anyone in the staff presumed that I should be treated any differently. They always took the time to explain to me diagnosis' and treatment plans; they never presumed that they didn't need to or I didn't deserve the same treatment as all other patients.

On the occasions when I've had billing questions things were explained to me and/or straightened out in short order. I couldn't be more pleased with how things were/are handled there. The front desk staff does an amazing job at check in and check out, making both processes as pleasant as possible. When I call to schedule my appointment it's always done efficiently and pleasantly.

I now live in the Chicago area, but still come back to Houston to see Dr. Cook and will continue to do so. Recently I had an injury requiring orthopedic surgery, when I was disappointed with the prognosis my local physician gave me, I called Dr. Cook told him I needed to "come home to see a physician". He didn't hesitate with a referral to an Orthopedic Surgeon for me to see. By the time I called that doctor for an appointment Dr. Cook had already made contact with that doctor about my injury. I was (and still am) terribly impressed! Talk about going above and beyond!

One last note (I promise), when my nephew and his wife were having their first baby, I referred them to Dr. Cook. She didn't seek prenatal care as early as she should have so the staff got her in ASAP when she called to schedule the appointment. On ultrasound he found that there was a complication. Not long after that diagnosis the couple were moving to another state. He helped my niece with a referral to a local physician to continue her care, but told her "his door was always open" if she needed him. The couple saw the new physician once before making the decision to stay right where they were for the birth of their first baby. So they made the trip monthy, bi weekly, then weekly until her due date drew closer. Their son was born with club feet which required lengthy medical care after birth, but he's a healthy, active 8 year old boy. Dr. Cook still asks about them. Which I appreciate and so does my niece.

I can't say enough about what a great group of people they have at The Ob/Gyn Center. But I can tell you that Dr. Cook himself is the absolute best physician I could have ever hoped for!

Horrible experience!!. I was referred to Dr. Cook by a friend and at first I absolutely loved him. When I got pregnant I started to become dissatisfied. Dr. Cook and the other doctors are so use to pregnancy they forget that you don't already know everything. They gave me virtually no instructions on prenatal care and seemed surprised I would have any questions.

It was very important to me that I have a natural child birth. I told Dr. Cook that several times. I kept getting a feeling that he didn't like natural births. When I was 39 weeks one of the medical assistants asked me why Dr. Cook hadn't induced me yet. She said he normally takes the babies before now. He started acting very funny and told me I could go ahead and get induced. I expressed how much I wanted to have the baby naturally and he said it would be fine to wait. At 40 weeks he said I had to have a cesarian because the baby was too big. She only ended up being 8 pounds. Dr. Cook actually told me he doesn't get paid more for cesarians, which by the way he does.

After my cesarian no doctor did more than come by the hospital room and say how do you feel. No doctor checked me out. I was then released from the hospital with high blood pressure. I ended up having post pardum preeclampsia which is very dangerous. I was in ICU for a few days. When I came home Dr. Cook and his team were completely incompetent. My blood pressure kept going up. I had to call the doctor on call a few times to see what to do. The doctors got annoyed with me for calling and in one day Dr. Cook, Dr. Nanda, and Dr. Melham called me back and all told me different amounts of medicine and different medicines to take. When I went back to the office for a check up Dr. Cook said the reason he wanted to induce early was because he thought I was going into preeclampsia. He never told me that. I would have like to know.

This practice is clearly more interested in money than patient care. They over book and I am convinced Dr Cook purposely does many cesarians so he can schedule his day. I got this impression on several ocassions. Unfortunately, it was too late in my pregnancy to change doctors. I will never go back here again.

Worth the Wait. I am so happy I found this office - a friend referred me. The wait can sometimes be a little long, but I think that's fine to know you are going to receive such great care. I've been to other places and waited much longer.....it's really not that bad. All the doctors are so caring and so friendly and the staff is awesome! Everyone makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. I wont go anywhere else!!!!!!!

Horrid staff. I'm a new patient at this practice and I'm 32wks pregnant, first of all..I can only get an appt on Wednesday or Friday and when I ask why or if I can possibly get an appt on another day, I'm treated like crap by the appt girls. The girls that make appts are the rudest human beings I've ever met. My first appt me there took 4 hours because they were understaffed with just one nurse to look after all of the patients and she picked me last because I needed a pap smear. The nurse was nice, the doctor, who I've met once for a minute is nice, but the staff treats you like crap. I'm on medicaid and I wonder if this is why. I also wonder if medicaid patients are the ones that are forced to go on certain days. Discriminate much? If you can go elsewhere, do it...nice doctors aren't worth a horrible staff and poor treatment of patients.

Best Man and Doctor. I have been seeing Dr. Cook for over 12 years. I can still remember the first time I saw him because it was a difficult visit and he showed me so much compassion. I stayed with Dr. Cook because he loves what he does and really cares for ALL his patients even if he is a busy man. I have had two healthy babies delivered by Dr. Cook and can tell you from my experience the staff are wonderful too. He is a high risk doctor with great outcomes. Dr. Melhelm and Dr.Nanda are also wonderful doctors that took care of me as well. I highly recommend the commute to the med center.

Frustrated w/ No Explaination. Went to Dr. Cook due to our Miscarriage. Everytime we go, we had to wait about 1 hour before we can see him, or he might send another doctor due to his overbooking. Then he would spend about 2-5 minutes without really going over records or stating the facts. Then it is always take another test and make another appointment with no answers. This is getting ridiculous. I am wondering if he even took the time to review my file before he walked in to visit with us. Looking for a doctor that cares just a little bit more.

Great OBGYN and Amazing Staff!. I had a stillbirth last year and my OBGYN at that time was awful. I ended up having a great on-call doctor during my stay, Dr La at West Houston Medical Center. Dr La did my after care and during my consults with him he said it was best for me to be in med center for my next pregnancy due to my being high risk and referred me to Dr Cook. I am so glad that he did. Dr Cook is awesome! He is so knowledgeable and makes you feel relaxed and as though you are in good hands. I also had the privilege to be seen by other doctors in his practice, Dr Boone, Dr Melhem and Dr Nanda and they all are amazing!!! The staff nurses are so caring as well. The doctors all had a game plan for me and they all knew my case which made me feel less stressed considering my nervousness in losing the baby again. I ended up having a c-section and my after care nurses at Memorial Hermann said that Dr Cook and Dr Nanda did an amazing job and that my stitches were so short in length. I had a healthy baby boy and am so thankful that I was a patient of OB-GYN center. I will definitely go back to see them again in my next pregnancy. I also kind of miss them too as I saw them so much during my pregnancy....it's kind of wierd not going there so often. Definitely give them a try, I am sure you won't regret it!
