The Course – If you've ever swung a golf club in Houston, chances are you've played at the Hermann Park Golf Course. Built in 1922 and designed by John Bredemus, the course has served well as one of the most reliable and affordable public courses in the area. – – The Experience – After a $6 million renovation, the course is in the best shape of its long life. Cart paths, an irrigation system and a $1 million clubhouse are just a few of the amenities. The redesigned course, by Carlton Gibson, includes tiered greens and elevated tee boxes. If it's been awhile since…
Great place to play. Very close to downtown Houston.

Hermann is a fun course, close-in to central Houston. Go to have a relaxed round on a beautiful, short course (4724-6014 yards) with fairways lined by mature oak trees. The location can't be beat, within the museum district of Houston, right next to the Texas Medical Center (Ambulances pass by regularly during a round). Relaxed play is the key to a fun round. The course allows fivesomes, which translates into 4:30 hour rounds on a Saturday. In addition, the number of close, parallel fairways ensure that you will easily land in a fairway - it just might not be your own. (That also means that you will find plenty of your neighbors in your fairway as well.) Water comes into play quite often for a course of this type, which adds some challenge. The staff is friendly and laid-back, as well, enhancing the comfortable feel of a round. Views of downtown Houston are tough to beat, especially from places like the sixth tee and fairway. The course boasts a decent driving range and putting green, and an adequate grill. Lessons are available.
- Pros: Very Close-in. Fun, relaxing golf. Very easy to get a tee time.
- Cons: Short course. Allows fivesomes. Close, parallel fairways.
Not too bad

It's a pretty nice golf course. It's a bit overpriced for the course. It's $45 on the weekends but it drops to $20 after 2 pm. The course is short, but maintained well. It's convient because it's located right in town, but that also means that it's a lot more crowded.
- Pros: convienent
- Cons: expensive
