I can't comment on the hairstylists here because I didn't get my hair cut. I moved from Austin and went to MK on the recommendation of my salon in Austin. Before committing to getting an entire facial done by their esthetician, who is some dude that is a contract hire, I scheduled a brow wax. This guy completely molested my eyebrows. I knew before I even looked in the mirror that they were going to look awful because he did the entire thing with only three strips--one under each brow, one in the middle. Sure enough, my brows were uneven, one had been chopped off on the side, and they were rounded like half-moons...looks like my little cousin did them while she was distracted watching Hannah Montana. Plus NO prep, NO lotion afterwards. This guy was TERRIBLE! I had to wait two months for them to grow out before going to Spalon on Bissonett for corrective waxing....Alissa at Spalon is FANTASTIC, I 100% recommend her. She also agreed that the MK guy butchered my brows. I had a fill done by Amy...she did a good job. I also had a pedicure by Thanh....lackluster. The water was tepid, she didn't have enough strength to use any pressure in filing or massage so it just tickled more than anything. Also annoying: for nails and waxes you can't pay by credit card, so bring your checkbook (if you even know where that thing is anymore). Ugh. MK = no goods.

Pros: good manicure/nails

Cons: TERRIBLE WAXING JOB

I have been to Michael Kemper's Salon twice, each time was a very good experience..I will keep coming back..Yolanda washed my hair each time, her scalp messages were relaxing, and she made sure I had coffee or tea if I wanted it..Berry was my stylist each time, I like the hair cut he gave me..He is an expert at making one's hair look and feel better, he was fun to talk to..I will keep coming back...It was a treat to spend part of my day at the salon, then meet my sister to go shopping in the nearby area.
