Greatly Disappointed With My Experience!. I am from NYC. My brother and his wife live in Houston, and recently experienced a terrible loss. I wanted to send a timely and meaningful arrangement to them. I had seen River Oaks Plant House written up as "Best Florist of 2010" in a local review, and thought I would give them a try.

Although the woman I spoke with was initially quite nice in the phone, she turned out to be misleading, really let me down. Calling first thing in the morning, I asked to order one of the arrangements shown on their website, explaining that I needed delivery for that day, or at least for the next morning. I was immediately given a long list of excuses why they couldn't make the arrangement listed on their website. When the woman heard my story, she said that she wanted to check with a supplier to see if she could get a particular flower in to help out. She said she would be "right back in touch", and took my number. 2 hours later I called her, and she said she was still waiting to hear from the supplier, and would be back in touch within an hour. I said that if they could not get the flower, it was ok, and to please call back so that we could figure something else out. Several hours later I was still waiting to hear, and then I was called away to take care of work. Toward the end of the day I called back, and got an answering machine. I left a message, and they never called back, not even the next day. They never gave any reason for their dismissal of my order request. And my "timely" flower delivery was set back several days.

I definitely DO NOT recommend this River Oaks Plant House!

gorgeous! gorgeous! flowers!. incredibly beautiful flowers...my sister received two different arrangments from here ,we couldn't be more pleased.this nursery rates a ten!

Meh.. So I was driving through the River Oaks area which is a rare voyage for myself, when I saw they had a Nursery there. I guess you could call it that. The place is more like a glorified florist's shop.

I was browsing their citrus and asked the clerk if I could taste one; I only asked this because each of their overpriced trees were LOADED with fruit and I was considering making a purchase of a smaller tree until she told me "Sure, you can eat one of the ones off the ground if you find one, but we can't sell the trees if everyone picks the fruit off of them now can we?"

After that I left, and probably will never come back. They're just all going to fall on the ground anyways at the price they charge because they will never sell. If you're in Houston and you're shopping for citrus, this is probably the last place you want to go. You can get the same tree somewhere else for $60 dollars that they want for $300.

Not good...at all. I ordered flowers last Monday for delivery on Thursday morning. The flowers were never delivered to my wife. I called Friday to inquire. They had no answer. The guy who answers the phone said he would look into it and call me right back. No return call.

Now I have called again this morning (Monday). Still another promised return call after "investigating."

The only thing they were good at way charging my credit card right away (charge posted the Monday I ordered).

PROS: None from my experience with this place.

CONS: Do not deliver the flowers, do not return phone calls, incompetent

terrible customer service and rude clerk. I have a relative who lost 3 family members in 3 weeks. I went in to River Oaks plant shop to get a flower basket to be delivered. I felt very rushed by the clerk, and it was obvious she was in a hurry to leave the store for the day.

I felt rushed an ripped off. I'll never go back...too expensive anyway.

True Pros!. I have no idea how to put together a creative yet beautiful flower arrangement and that is why I go here!! I'm a guy and have no experience or "know how" in this feild. My lady is always impressed with the flowers "I" put together for her. Also, delivery is always on time! Great place!

Poor Customer Service. Poor customer service and flowers. Want problems rectify with satisfaction, this is NOT the place to go. I agree totally with the other reviews regarding negative results. My boyfriend purchased flowers for Valentine's Day, paid over $100 and I received dead and dying flowers. Randall Groceries sends out a new arrangement when customers are not satisfied. Also, cannot go wrong with Albert Miller Flowers - 713.529.8721 (Allen Parkway & Waugh Dr.)!!

Money for Nothing. I ordered an anniversary arrangement of flowers by phone worth $100 to be delivered end of Dec. '08. The so called arrangement consisted of a few medium size and small roses, a cabbage and some apples stuck in a small glass vase! I could have put together something better if I had bought flowers at the nearby Randalls grocery store for $10.00. On top of that, the flowers all died within 3 days of delivery. I would not recommend the service nor the flowers sold here. Beware!!!

Great flowers. Order all my holiday flowers there, and have never had any problem. Everything was beautiful. Valentine flowers were beautiful. GO there. Rolo
