Above Average Service, Ad Specials are hard to beat..
I have been doing business at Micro Center since it opened over a decade ago. Throughout the years they have had their ups and downs but during the past 2 years or so they have really improved. They actually listen to the customer surveys you fill out and make the improvements. The checkout lines are never long anymore which is something they used to have a problem with (and Fry's Electronics still has a problem with at their Webster and North Houston Stores).
Most of MicroCenter's salespeople, while they do work on some commision, take time to talk to you and explain your purchase and usually don't try to sell you items you don't need. Salespeople like Ajay and Michael in computer sales are as good as they come and I recommend my own customers to use them.
For a chain computer store Micro Center is one of the best. If you have a problem, talk to the manager or fill out the customer survey and it gets taken care of. I've filled out a dozen comment cards at Fry's and never had a response, its nice Micro Center actually listens.
PRO: Great selection, easy in and out, great computer sales salespeople.
CONS: Doesn't price match local or internet pricing (Fry's Electronics does). Not always the best retail price vs Fry's and CompUSA. Parking spots need painted, cars park too close to each other.
Houston's Best Computer Store. Micro Center has a huge selection of computer products and everything you need to build a PC. Prices are often lower than Fry's or Newegg's.
