“Their petit fores are outstanding, and they will put baby booties or any kind of decoration on them for.”
“Like one of the previous reviewers said -- the strawberry cake is amazing.”
“No coffee flavor, no liquor flavor, the cake portion was dry, and the cream portion tasted like whipped shortening.”
“Well, we visited this bakery on the tentative recommendation of Mike Kahn out at Kahn's deli in the village because we were looking for someone that could bake the fabulous French pastries the way we used to get them at Alfred's delicatessen until 1995 wh”
“Even though the baked items are good, I would rather goo to a bakery where the service is great.”
“had to ask someone to wait on me and it's not even a huge, busy place!”
“Although I find service a tad slow, it is part of Moellers and I still will highly recommend them for sugary sweets.”
disapointed. iI ordered a chocolate Stars Wars cake for my son's 4th birthday party. It was the worsst cake we have ever tasted. Cake was dry and disgusting, not to mention the lack of creativity. Would have done better at Kroger for half the price.
bakery products.
Moeller's Bakery! What can I say! Being a USMC wife I
have lived in many states and visited dozens of bakeries. Moeller's has the most delicious baked items I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The Danish and petit fours are the best!
Disappointed.
I ordered a half sheet cake for a graduation party and was so disappointed in bakery staff and quality of cake. Upon picking up the cake at the bakery I found staff to be borderline rude to most waiting customers and generally apathetic. The decoration on my cake was ho hum and the script was barely legible. The cake itself was significantly dry and the frosting overly sweet and a bit hard. We ended up discarding almost half of the cake due to lack of interest due to reviews by our party guests.
I won't be purchasing a cake from this bakery again any time soon. The grocery stores will have my business back!
Don't write a check or your identity could be stolen!. I have bought goods from this bakery for many years. In November 2010, I wrote a check for the purchase of a birthday cake. Someone working at Moellers stole my identity and wrote counterfeit checks to the toll of $1500 several weeks before Christmas! Don't write checks to Moeller's or this too could happen to you.
Moeller's is the best!. Moeller's is the best ever! I am 40 and have been enjoying their white sheet cake for almost that long. As a young girl I went to the Rice Village location and have followed them to Bellaire. I do not care as much for the chocolate or layered cakes but I wouldn't have a birthday for me or my children without a Moeller's white sheet cake with their traditional pastel icing!
cake was mediocre, but cookies were great!. i ordered a regular white birthday cake, after reading all the rave reviews....but was extrremely disappointed....it tasted okay, but much like something i could have made out of a box myself....the frosting was very thick and sweet, much like what you buy in the grocery aisle made by betty crocker or pillsbury.....not pleased at all......however, the sugar cookies are great and reasonably priced....would definitely go back for the cookies.........they had a lot of delicious looking pastries, which i did not try but plan on next time!
Best Gingerbread Men Ever.
I have lived in Houston for 42 years and never visited Moeller's until a few weeks ago. On day one I bought petit-fours and chocolate chewy cookies. The following day I went back for more petit-fours and chocolate chewy cookies in addition to gingerbread men (totally great); ranger cookies, and sugar cookies. It was during the holidays so everything was decorated wonderfully. I had read the service was bad, but my experience was totally opposite. It was me who slowed down my order because I couldn't make up my mind. The individuals working there were great and even let me sample a few things before I bought them.
I can't wait to be back in that area gain.
make sure you get what you pay for..... The petit fours are adorable, and the taste is a bit above par. CAUTION: Check the box before you leave the bakery. On two occasions, I made it to the party lacking at least half a dozen (paid for) petit fours. I know, I know...I should have checked, but I was in a hurry...and the box was covered and stapled closed. Also, do NOT expect friendly service b/c this isn't the place for smiles and helpful employees (this comment is not based on a one-time experience...have been there many times).
No Flavor Cocolate Cake.. I picked up a chocolate cake with butter cream icing for my son's birthday. It was the worst cake we have had. I usually buy from 3 Brothers Bakery who makes excellent cakes. But, they are closed due to Hurricane Ike. There is no flavor to the chocolate cake. It may might as well be white or yellow. The icing is stiff and way too sweet. There is no creaminess to it. I will not be buying cakes from them again. Randall's makes better cakes and they are much cheaper.
