“agree terrible service to be a reperable company”
One star is too much. My husband and I had been customers for more than 12 years when I took a pair of my husband's Oxford pants in for cleaning. There was a small stain -- which the guy at the counter marked with tape. There were no other stains on the pants when I brought them in, but there were several stains when I picked them up. I sent them for a re-do and the pants still came back dirty, along with a new hole in the vicinity where the original stain had been. When I complained, they referred me to the manager who never called me back (although she later claimed she did). When I finally spoke with her, she said she was sending the pants for independent analysis. I wasn't surprised when the "analysis" said the cleaner wasn't at fault. In reality, I was grateful this happened. Gorman's quality had declined significantly in the last few years, and I was just too lazy to find someone new. Now I have a new dry cleaner and Gorman's will never get another penny of my money.
Try Shelton Family Cleaners right down the feeder just past Chimney Rock and before Antoine. They will treat you right and not charge an arm and a leg so you can still wear your clothes!
I agree terrible service to be a reperable company. I recently took my wedding gown to Gormans Cleaners to get cleaned and preserved. Prior to doing so, I met with Maurice to inspect my gown before leaving it with them to clean. In addition, I received a quote that was $100 less than what it was when I dropped the dress off. Maurice reassured me that the stain would come out and to give him a while to clean it. No one notified me when my dress was ready, I had to contact them and when I did they had it preserved in a heirloom so that I couldn't inspect my dress. I requested for Gorman's to take the dress out for me to view before taking the dress home. When I did there were still stains on my dress! I then asked to speak with Maurice and he told me that they should have contacted me to view before they placed the dress in a heirloom and that he would need a few weeks to try to get the stains out again. Still no call when the dress was ready... I contacted them a month later and Maurice said the dress was ready, and I asked if the stains have been taken out and he said that there were a little bit of stains. I then asked if I would be required to pay the full amount since all of the stains did not come out and when I came in the first time. He said no and that I would still have to pay the full amount. I then spoke with Rosa, the General Manager and I told her about my incident and she said that she can not give me half off, but will take the dress out of the heirloom for me to come and view. She also stated that Gormans Cleaners always tells their customers that the stains are not guaranteed to come out. No one at Gorman's Cleaners never told me this information nor provided me with written documentation.
Gormans Poor Customer Service. Once, I drove across town to use this cleaners. NO MORE. Their service has slipped. I've had to have items redone including a suit that had to be redone FOUR times. I left two sweaters for reweaving in June, received a quote of $47 in August and in October was told it would now cost $60.00 I will not use them any more.
