It's obvious why people keep going back here. We had a bad dining experience at a pizza place the night before and we were hungry. The location we were originally headed was closed on Sunday. So we reached out to a friend and were were told to check out Pappy's. I have driven by and wondered about this place for decades. I now know why it's been around for so long.

It was 12:30 on Sunday when we got there but we only waited for 10 minutes. The hostess even checked on us and let us know our table was coming. They were busy. Our server was running but when she got to our table she stopped and made sure we were taken care of. Then she was off and running again. She was so nice and friendly. Our food came out quick and was hot. We ordered some queso to start and it was good. We both got our cheeseburgers pretty quick as well. Made to order and fresh. They were good burgers. The buns are real good and the meat seemed to be hand formed.

I would go back and I would reccomend this place to anyone. It's outside the loop and it wouldn't be where I would normally look. For good comfort food and friendly service you should try it out.

Best place in town!. Our favorite place in the whole, wide world! It doesn't matter what you are in the mood for because you can find something to fit your needs at Pappy's. It is our 'go-to' place for eating out. They have fabulous spinach/artichoke, nachos, scorpian tails, salads, chicken tenders, chicken friend steak, fajias, catfish tacos, chicken sandwiches, curly fries, bubba's chicken, meatloaf, crawfish etoufee, etc... but the best of all are the homemade dressings (the honey mustard can't be beat) and chicken tortilla soup! The prices are reasonable and the portions generous!! If you haven't stopped in then you are missing out on delicious, comfort food!!

Great neighborhood place!. I went for the Margarita's. The one on the rocks was great. I got the Deluxe Chicken Sandwhich which was excellent. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was the Zucchni and Squash side veggies were just not interesting like everything else. They had a Sundae in a mug which looked super. I'm going back just for that. This is a great neighborhood place! It was filled with couples and families. I was shopping in the area and I've passed it by numerous times but decided to try it and it was well worth it.

Great people, great food, $2 magaritas. This is one of my favorite places to eat. By the way, the sign out front reads "Pappy's Cafe", not Grill. Just so's you know, if you've never been there before and might be wondering. The decor is an aw-shucks kind of cool, rather homespun and rustic. Parking out front is restricted to only a handful of spaces; out back there's a large lot. Expect it to get busy for lunch. The wait staff are friendly and competent -- never had a bad experience in that regard. The menu has a good variety: burgers, Tex-Mex, seafood, salads, chicken, beef dishes, and a daily special. Everything is priced reasonably. Portions are generous. I've liked everything I've tried there, but the real standouts for me were the chicken fried steak that hangs off the sides of the plate, the fajitas tender enough to cut with a fork, the burgers -- especially the bacon cheeseburger -- that are so big, I almost get jaw cramps biting into one, and the blackened catfish, which tastes as good as anything Papadeaux has to offer at about half the price. They have a Sunday brunch now, but I've not yet tried it. $2 margaritas all day long. What's not to like? See you there!

Love it!. My friends and I come here all the time. The bacon cheeseburger is SO GOOD! You also have to try the chocolate brownie desert! YUMMY!

Awesome burgers!. They have really great burgers...the buns they use I think really makes them tasty. Plus, they cook them to order and they come out pretty quickly.
