Events Gifts - a Nightmare!!!!. I wouldn't give them any stars if Citysearch would let me. I have had the unfortunate experience of registering with Events for my wedding almost 3 years ago. Since then, EVERY experience has been a nightmare. For example...1) They do not use a computer to order or to process orders; therefore, everything is done by hand. This causes problems with placing orders, finding out the status of orders and receiving the orders in a timely fashion. When we went to redeem our wedding gifts and gift certificates, they tried to charge us more by making us pay for the taxes (which had already been paid by our wedding guests). 2) I have had to call EVERY time to find out the status of my order and even "push" them to have it delivered. It took 9 months just to receive 2 plates and then another 5 months of reordering that same plate due to malfunction in the plate. 3) They waited 6 weeks to place an order on an item and in that time the item was discontinued. They failed to call me (I had to call them 3 months later) or inform me of this issue.

If I had to do it all over again, I would not subject anyone to this poorly run and antiquated store. NIGHTMARE!!!!!

Good selection but bad service. I had been a customer of Events for years buying gifts, frames, etc. However, they sold me a couple picture frames that I hung on the wall. A few months later, both frames broke and fell down on the ground, damaging the wood floor underneath. Apparently, the picture frame hook was drilled into a piece of wood that was only glued to the glass backing of the frame and in the Houston heat and humidity, they came unglued and came crashing down.

They pretend to be a first class outfit, so I brought the frames back assuming they would own up to the problem and let me pick out replacements. However, they pretended they had never seen the frames before. Although I didn't have a receipt, I had AmEx statements that showed half a dozen Events charges totaling a couple thousand over the last few months. Even that didn't sway them.

I ultimately left the broken frames there and haven't been back.
