Best Bar and Staff around.
I have been a regular at Cecil's for some time now. It's the first place I think of for a night out be it casual drinks with friends or to celebrate a special occasion. The staff is friendly, funny, fast, and they remember they're customers. Also, when the fajita guy is on the patio cooking, you can always get delicious food for a good price.

drunk, rude employees.
I regularly go here with groups of people. They have good drink specials on certain nights, and a casual atmosphere. However, the employees can be a problem. The bartenders are usually ok, but there is always a beligerent, rude doorman who will ID regulars who are obviously over 35 and are seen in the place several times a week. Sometimes the doormen are drinking on the job and that makes them worse. There's also a guy that comes by about every 2 minutes trying to take empty glasses, making it really difficult to have a conversation. The drink specials made it worth it for a while, but its time for a new hangout, I think.

Not exactly a pool hall..
I do enjoy this place. Cheap drinks and fast bar crew. Could do without the pretentious young crowd fiddeling with daddy's creit card. Other than that, if you can ignore them you can have a great time. Monday night is the best time to go and hang out with the comics from Laff Stop.

Long-standing Montrose drinking hole where pool- and music-craving bohemians congregate..
The Scene
This wall-to-wall carpeted pub is the type of place where older brothers bring their younger brothers for their first pint. The dimly lit setting blends the atmospheres of a traditional English pub and a large study. The mood matches the bookish nature of most of the crowd. Whether they're perusing the latest issue of the Press or a compendium of Rimbaud's poetry, they're introverted but eager to talk when approached.
The Draw
A diverse working-class set vies for coveted space at the three pool tables. Dart boards are also available and easier to get a hold of. Off in the corner, couples snuggle on the large sectional couch. The jukebox may not be as good as it once was, but many still consider it the best in town--it spotlights local talent as well as established favorites.
