In Short – Lucky is the diner who snags the gently cornmeal-fried soft-shell crabs when in season, or remembers the Tuesday and Thursday lunch special of shrimp and crab meat spaghetti. Oysters Damian with pico de gallo, crawfish ravioli, and blackened snapper in lime butter are outstanding. Thick and rich, mama's gumbo is vibrant as is the Mississippi farm-bred whole fried catfish. Try to save room for the varied desserts.
Not a good experience!

Went there for a birthday celebration on this past Sunday. We had a party of 10 people. We have dined there in the past and always had a great experience. This experience was minus 10 dining experience. It did not appear they were short on staff, but waiter was not attentive. It was so bad that my Uncle was asking the bus boy for things, and I asked another waiter to find our server. It was an early dinner as we got there at 6:30 had drinks before dinner. However when I placed my order I requested a baked potatoe instead of fries. When my food was delivered there were fries on my plate. No biggie I thought, I will just inform the waiter. He went off the the kitchen, and came back to tell me that they had no more baked potatoes. When they knew they were short would it have been so hard to see if I might like another menu item in place of fries,? I was just given fries. Not wanting to make this anymore unpleasant for my family. I just took the fries, everyone's meal was just lukewarm. My uncle who was luckly enough to get a baked potatoe, was served a cold one, had to be re-heated, cause they could not serve him a fresh one. My sister's fries cold as ice. They did manage to bring her out a new batch. Once dinner was over, we had after dinner drinks, had to ask the waiter to show us the dessert tray???Should this have not been done automatically. Only one person ordered dessert, however it took him so long to show the dessert tray I think others would have partaken they were just ready to go. Two of the members of party had to leave as the rest of us were either eating dessert or having after dinner drinks. The two members that left early paid their portion of the meal via credit card. Today one friends that left early discoverd she was charged for everyone's meal plus her orginial charge. The other friend was charged twice for her charge. When we asked why couldn't the two people who charged their meals be back out the orginial bill and new bill issued the waiter told us not there policy. So we dealt with this still not understanding. It took them over 25 minutes to figure out the bill, and this is with assistance of the manager Tommy. Found out through another waiter that manager was assisting him because we had to ask another waiter why it was taking so long for us to get the charged bill because we gave him a credit card for the final charge. This waiter told us manager was handling the charge so if the the manager was handling and these mistakes were done, wow! The manager by the way customer service stinks! I personally spoke to him to verifiy the acutal total charge was correct and on one person's card. He kept on saying there was one mistake to the card, and I explained to him that he was incorrect. There were 2 mistakes with credit card charges and the service was not up to the service level that we have had in the past. He then informed me that we should have addressed our concerns with him that night. I explained it was a large party and we did not want to put a damper on my cousin's party. I told him we have done several holiday celebrations there in the past, my brother has several business lunch/dinner meetings there almost monthly as matter of fact, the other waiters know him by name. Tommy Mandola did not seem to think much of this, and his apology was weak, and did not seem sincere. I will think twice about dinning here!

While visiting some friends in Houston a couple weeks ago we made the mistake of dining at Tony Mandola?s. While being underdressed compared to most of the patrons there, I felt we were way overdressed for the atmosphere within the restaurant. It?s not that nice and loud, the food was mediocre for the price and the waiter was very arrogant. I think he forgot the difference between the customer and the server. We will never come back and will discourage anyone to go there.
Catering is fabulous
by wgint
We had a holiday party for 40 guests and the catering was fabulous. They delivered everything from patio heaters to elaborate floral table decorations. They set everything up, served and tore down without the guests even noticing them. The food was delicious and it was very reasonable. Our guests had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere the caterers exhibited.
