poor customer service, disappointing delivery service

I am a 6-yr customer, and have had problems only in the last 2 months. Specifically, in Sept 08 I placed an order for delivery. I live less than 10 blocks from the restaurant, and historically deliveries came within 30 minutes. After an hour and 20 minutes, we re-placed the order and picked it up ourselves at the restaurant. Ironically the driver did arrive at the house in 1 hour 30 minutes, while we were at the restaurant. Today (Oct 08), to avoid this delivery hassle, I placed our order for "pick up." It was ready when we arrived. When we got home, however, the cashew chicken we ordered had NO cashews! When I phoned the restaurant, they explained that no manager was on duty and they were out of cashews. If only they had mentioned it by calling us or at time of pickup, we could've ordered something else. When I asked if they could deliver another dish, they said their driver was out and it would be at least 30 minutes. There were also no fortune cookies... not a big deal to me, but a big disappointment for my young son. They did offer to credit us the cashew chicken for a future order, but there will be no need, as we have no plans to return.

Rude, Horrible service

I took my grandmother here because she likes chinese food and it is convenient to where I live. It took at least 10 minutes for our waitress to even come over to the table and there was only one other group of diners in the entire resturaunt. When asked what we wanted to drink we both asked for water and some lemons. The waitress brought us water with one lemon. We asked for more lemons and she told us if we wanted any more she would have to charge us becasue we didn't order a real drink. In all my life I have never experienced something so absurd. I was very tempted to get up and walk out, but my grandmother thought we should stick it out. WRONG DECISION. Our soup came out luke warm, and had to be sent back to be heated properly. Any time we needed something from our waitress we had to get up and go ask her ourselves because she was too busy gossiping with the other servers and paid no attention to us. This was by far the worst service I have ever recieved and I will NEVER return. Do yourself a favor and skip this establishment!

A place to meet

Overall, recommended. Maybe it is a victory of comfort and habit merely, but my friends and I find ourselves meeting at this place. While there is nothing superbly great about it, it works as a package: location, convenience, ambience, service, food. The interior is sufficiently interesting and sophisticated (no cheap plastic dragons on the walls), the music is not too loud for conversation, the service is better than average (solicitous and fast, most of the time) and it is possible to get enough privacy if you need to have a business meeting or a private chat. While in principle I am not a fan of this trend, all-too-prevalent in Houston, of combining different and often incompatible cuisines in one establishment (exactly how do sushi and Chinese go together, except by some vague association of both being "eastern"?), in practice this ends up accommodating different tastes. Great martinis. The moo-shi pork at $5.50 is delicious and a bargain. Oh, and the parking. Half the time you can deposit your chariot within a few steps of one of the two entries to the restaurant.
