Not so good Curry, Great Tom Yum Goon. Thia is one of my favorites. I was disappointed with the Golden Room's Green Curry Chicken. Actually it was the worst I have ever had. It was way too watery and too much coconut milk, and not enough curry. The Tom Yun Goon was fantastic thogh, but they could still stant to use higher quality mushrooms. For the price you pay here, I think it's not worth it at all. Especially if you like the curry dish.

consistently good. Yeah I am partial since I just bought a house a few blocks away, but this place has consistently good food and service. The waitstaff is always friendly and speaks fluent Thai to give it that authentic Thai feel. Dishes can be spicy to my delight and the Thai Ice Tea is always tasty. It is a nice neighborhood restaurant for the Montrose.

Wonderful red curry shrimp!. The food and charming dining room are top notch. I had their lunch special of perfectly spiced red curry sauce with the largest, tenderest shrimp I've ever had. The rice came out in the shape of Texas which was a very nice touch. The red curry sauce is an addictive blend of spices and... just thinking about it, I'm going back for lunch today! Service is warm and very attentive and the dining room beautifully appointed. They've been serving thai in Houston for over 25 years now for a reason! Love this place.

Intimate, Peaceful, Consistently Wonderful. Love this place- have been dining in and doing delivery with them for five years- at least 2x's a month. It is not cheap by Houston standards- but the quality is amazing- flavors always as Thai should be. Really a "golden" find!

I'm telling everyone about this spot!. I've been on the prowl for excellent Thai food since my recent return from that fabulous country, and this is the spot. Ironically I'd been to this sweet & cozy spot years ago and remembered the meal as great, but I just had to shop around now that I'm back in Houston. Several sad attempts led me back to Golden Room and I"m absolutely delighted to rediscover it. Lunch today: yummy Tom Ka-Gai soup, delicious Red Curry Chicken, amazing Spicy Mint Chicken & better Pad Thai than I've anywhere else here in Houston. God, did I eat all that? Yes! and more - not yet on the menu, but definitely the best homemade thai coffee and tea ice-cream! (Okay, my sister shared,,, and we brought some home) The staff was so wonderful - attentive, friendly and just plain delightful hosts to a wonderful meal. I'm already planning to put a group together for a return dinner. You should come - they even serve Sing ha beer. Enjoy!

Best Thai Restaurant in Houston. I've been eating at the Golden Room for over 15 years and it is hands down the best Thai food in Houston. From their pad thai, red curry, garlic beef and soups; unbelievable! The service is great and prices and ambience untouchable. My wife and I eat there at least 3 times a month and enjoy our self's each and every time.

It's a must try, for Thai food lovers!

A charming, conveniently located Thai cottage serving tasty Asian specialties.. In Short
Tranquil and serene, this charming gilded Thai cottage will soothe your soul with superb cuisine and gentle service. Start with the cold chicken-and-vegetable spring rolls or the fried pork-and-egg-noodle spring rolls served with sweet-and-sour sauce. Entrees are served with fragrant jasmine rice portions shaped like the state of Texas. Check out ka prao beef, stir fried beef with onions, jalapenos and basil. Chef's nightly specials, like steamed duck or Thai shrimp salad with spring rolls, are reliably good.

terrible. Just gave this place a try since it was down the street. Nastiest phad thai I can remember - can't wait until tomorrow when the taste is finally gone (tried brushing my teeth to no avail). Avoid.

Bad Enough to get a Citysearch ID. This place is expensive. For the quality food and the portion size, we found Golden Room Restaurant entirely overpriced. We ordered the chicken musman curry which was $16...and came with less than a chicken breast half. The spring rolls were ancient, and small. The only semidecent item was the soup although the chicken in it had a freezer-burned taste.

OK Service - Poor Food. We were the only ones in the place...that should have been our first sign. The Spring Rolls were OK but small. The Pad Thai was HORRIBLE. It was extremely oily, the noodles had a strange PINK color to them and had no flavor. It lacked chopped peanuts and the bean sprouts were soggy. Diet Cokes were served in VERY small glasses and no matter how loudly we slurped to signal that we were ready for another...we never got it. I will never go back again and will stick with Thai Cottage in the Greenway Plaza area..One word - BLECH!
