Food Poisoning. I believe I got food poisoning here from a sausage kolache on 9-12-10. I have only been here this one time, so I can't speak beyond this experience. But I wanted to let people know.

Decent Donuts Devoured. I've heard a number of good things about Christy's for a while now. A lot of people have told me that they drive over there just to have their donuts (or is it doughnut?) weekly. I live right down the street from a decent Shipley's so until last weekend I hadn't ventured over to Christy's. I convinced my kids to go with me to get donuts (which took about 1 second) and we jumped in the car and headed there. The kids of course loved their chocolate donuts with sprinkles and devoured them. I was pleased but not amazed. Everything tasted as it should but nothing that made me say "wow." I sampled the Old Fashioned Buttermilk donut (always my fav) and an Apple Fritter. I will say that the fried pastries were not overly sweet, which is a very good thing. I didn't feel like my teeth were crumbling out of my mouth with each bite. Awesome.

The service was adequate but not very friendly. A robot could have easily taken the server's job and I wouldn't have known the difference. (Or was she a robot??) But we were attended quickly and efficient and were out the door in no time. A smile would have been nice though.

they take my card. I love Christy's! Best donut holes. They have consistently taken my debit card. Maybe there is a minimum. The breakfast croissants with egg, cheese and bacon or sausage are great! (aka Krusty burgers). The staff is friendly and you always get a few extras for free.

Delicious!!!!. I'll keep it short and simple. The best doughnuts I've had in years!! Friendly service counts a lot with me. I highly recommend this place.

Just like Shipley. I just went to Christy's Donuts on Montrose, and I wasn't impressed. First, they only take cash, which was a problem for me. I had to go to a grocery store to get some cash to pay for the donuts. Second, their donuts aren't that great. They taste exactly like Shipley Donuts, and are about the same price and further away from where I live. I even have a Shipley Donuts right down the street. The other reviews on CitySearch convinced me to go there, but those other reviews do not describe the place at all.

Perfect, Super Cheap, Cash Only. This is my favorite donut place anywhere, and it happens to be two blocks from me!! The only drawback is that it takes cash only, but that's just part of the charm. The cake donuts are simply amazing, especially the powdered and the blueberry. The service is prompt and friendly. They never get your order wrong, and if you order a bunch, they'll stick in a couple freebies! Two thumbs up!!!

Best donuts in town. This small donut shop has some of the best donuts in Houston. They're always fresh and delicious. It's nearly impossible to only eat one!

Feed a Whole Army with Great Taste. Once a month, our account rep. brings donuts from Christy's. He brings a full box of each:

1. Breakfast tacos (The first empty box every time I go get my share) :)

2. Breakfast biscuits with eggs, cheese, and sausage

3. Breakfast biscuits with eggs and sausage

4. (2 dz.) donuts of all varieties

5. kolaches with cheese

6. kolaches with jalapeno

...DELICIOUS!

We are always anxious when he arrives with about 7 to 8 boxes filled with decadent breakfast. With this much food he's able to feed the entire floor of about 60 people, and everyone is satisfied.

The only problem we have is that he only brings break fast once a month.

Best Doughnuts...Hands Down!!!. On Wednesday, 06/21/2006, we stopped by Christy's for sausage jalapeno & cheese kolaches and glazed doughnuts. They tasted fantastic! Most places we've been to either had doughnuts that were too sweet and/or kolaches that were 90% bread and 10% continents. Christy's is kinda far for us but worth the drive...despite the gas prices!!

Sample a glazed donut or a fritter from this Montrose doughnut shop and you'll be hooked.. In Short
Krispy Kreme's got nothing on the crisp, sweet doughnuts Christy's has been offering Houstonians since the '80s. This lively, kid-friendly Montrose bakery and coffee shop serves up some of the city's best basic, no-nonsense doughnuts, kolaches and pastries at prices the chains can't match. Try sausage biscuits and ham and cheese croissants for breakfast.
