“Great food, Great people.”
“The staff was friendly and really attentive.”
Don't drink the TEA!! ROACHES. ROACHES!! Visited on 11/29/11. Drink order arrived and member of our party found a medium sized german roach in their tea glass. When we reported to waitress she did nothing, made no comment but did provide another tea glass. Wanted to leave but stayed and did not make a big deal because we were with family members that offered to pay. Took extra care and checked food for any other surprises. The staff or manager on duty made no attempts to accomodate or apologize for this incident. They gave our family member the check and never did offer to even comp the meal for the person that found the roach in their drink.
Finally found what i've been looking for.. After living in the East End for 10 years and asking around for a good Mexican restuarant, I finally got a recommendation for one I really enjoyed. The four of us each enjoyed our meals. The interior was really colorful. Parking was easy with a small lot in front and a large side lot. The staff was friendly and really attentive. We had flaming cheese, cheese enhilada's, seafood cerviche, chili relleno, and chicken and spinach enhiladas. Everyone was happy. We also made it early enough for the happy hour margharitas!!! We will definately be back.
East Loop/Magnolia Park Tex-Mex eatery for sizzling fajitas and lively mariachis..
For years, this out of the way place near the Ship Channel has been representing all that is simple and good about area Tex-Mex restaurants, from the kitschy décor to the cheese-covered combo plates. Like a souvenir Mexican blanket, the restaurant is painted a vibrant mix of pinks, blues and yellows, with pottery and plates decorating the walls. Tejano music thumps from the jukebox while Saturday nights are especially lively with a strolling mariachi combo. The menu features classic Tex-Mex that pairs perfectly with a frozen margarita, including San Antonio's famous puffy taco, enchiladas, tamales topped with chile and sizzling fajitas.
Fantastic Tex-Mex! Great Ambiance! Fun Place!. My wife and I decided to try this place out after I read a review on it in the NY Times. We loved the live mariachi band and their chips and salsa + green sauce were excellent. This might be the best tex-mex we've had, and is much more mex than places such as chuy's/cafe adobe etic. The margaritas are good, but I don't think they had much tequilla in them - I had both frozen and on the rocks, and the rocks is for sure the way to go. I will say that the band can be kind of loud, but after a few minutes i didn't really have a problem with it. I hear this place is open until 3 AM, so they must have a good time after the main dinner time is cleared out. We will definitely be going back and taking friends!
great hours, great margaritas, great weekend and lunch specials. a personal favorite in harrisburg. plenty of authentic mexican dishes in combination with excellent margaritas
