Food good but Service needs improvement. Ok, I used to come here back in the '80's and '90's for good Mexican Food and GREAT service. Food was still good, but the servers are not really committed to excellence. The waitress DROPPED the plate of one of my party onto the floor and food went everywhere. Nobody was injured or seriously messed up, but the waitress was barely audible in her apology. Furthermore, she became so frazzled that she apparently forgot to bring the rest of our order. Eventually, I had to go to the front receptionist and tell her that I REALLY wanted the rest of our order and the replacement food. The food came eventually and was the quality that I expected. Also, the service did in fact pick up from that point on, however, when it came time to go, the waitress was no place to be seen! We again had to flag down the receptionst to get our check. PEOPLE GET A CLUE! IT'S ALL ABOUT EXCELLENT FOOD & SERVICE. I only have a certain amount of time to "do lunch" so at least be attentive and efficent.

Decent. I've been to many of the Mexican restaurants in Houston and I really liked this one. I just started going a year or two ago so I have no idea what is was like in the 90s but when I went with my family the service was great as was our food. I guess it just depends on your own taste buds but I'm a picky eater and I really liked it.

The Worst EVER!!. Please save your money, it's NOT like it once was. The managers were ignorant when responding to complaints and to end the evening: cockroaches!

2 Menus for our large party? Seriously??

No kids menus offered. Had to go to bar for our drinks (non-alcoholic). Asked for Manager and he rolled his eyes at us!! (We were calling him over to discreetly tell him about first cockroach, he never came over).

My impression is that since the gratuity was going to be automatic, the server did not care to serve us.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors. Lively Tex-Mex restaurant chain serving quality margaritas and unconventional entrees.

Lo Mejor.. I used to come here all the time in the 90s because they offer (ed???) chili con queso for free till 2 pm or at 2pm, cant remember. The food is always good, and nothing compares to their chili con queso.

Over-Rated. I've heard some good things about Doneraki's over the years, but after visiting a couple of times, I wasn't impressed. There are just sooooooo many more better Mexian food establishments in Houston to choose from. Doneraki's glory days have passed.
