Love Venus Hair. I've been going to Jill @ Venus Hair for over two years now. Terribly disappointed to read the last review...I too was looking for an alternative to the Toni & Guy salon and totally found it. Jill has been doing a great job! She does amazing color...check out her photos on the Venus site. I've gotten tons of compliments, both on color and style. I'm sorry that Polishprincess has the perception of a bad experience...I love this place and will be a customer for a long time to come.

Venus Saved my Hair from a bad haircut. I called in desperation and made an appointment with Susan Venus to save my hair from a disastrous haircut. I had long hair and the short hair had no style.

Susan took time to ask what I wanted and I told her I wanted a short easy care-free style. She gave me the best short hair style I have ever had. She cut the style appropriate for my hair texture - thick and curly. I love it! It is a cute bob with bouncy curly layers.

I will go back and have her style my hair again.

Terrible - they know it and they don't care!. Highlights are slopped on in a hurry so they don't even get near your scalp (the reason you're there in the first place is to get rid of new growth but you'll still have it.) She stuck me under the dryer too long creating bleed (bright orange bleached out blotches). She tried to hide her crappy job by globbing dark brown dye all over my hair making it nearly black. Then she had the gall to charge full price. Went to a new salon next day and set an appointment to correct my hair. All they could do was try to get some of the dark dye out. I have to live with crappy, blotchy hair for two months before they can do more without damaging my hair further. I'm broke and my hair has never looked worse!!

My Only Go-To Place. Traumatic childhood/teen/adult experiences taught me that while hair does indeed grow back, the interim experience tends to be brutal.

Due to learning lessons the hard way, hair salons are now something I have no problem being a snob about. After a mullet experience not too long ago, I now run in the opposite direction of a friend of a friend cutting my hair or finding the 'best deal' on haircuts in town. I'd rather not look like Billy Ray OR Carrot Top, thank you.

Jill at Venus is the only person in Houston who I trust to take shears to my hair. Sometimes I go in with a photo of a cut I want, other times I just need a few inches lopped off to get me back where I was the last time I was there. Never have I left the salon in tears or had to go back and have Jill fix her cut.

The prices for haircuts are outstanding and Jill has a legion of followers. I met one the other day out of the blue and we both rhapsodized over Jill's expertise. A fair price, awesome skills, and many fans is a triple-threat for booking a cut, so call a week or so ahead. Saturdays seem to be the busiest and I have never seen them take a walk-in, but the planning ahead is worth it.

Amazing !!!!. I went here after some friends suggested I try it since my hairdresser had moved to Florida two years ago and I had not had my hair done since. Let me say this was the best decision I have made when it comes to my hair. Venus(Susan) cut, colored and styled my hair and she is totally amazing !! The salon is an experience in and of itself and I enjoyed every moment I was there (almost four hours) !!! These ladies really know what they are doing and treated every single person who came in like they were their best friend ! Susan, Jill and Sharon are three of the nicest ladies I have ever met and I will never go anywhere else !!! Oh, and one more important thing ! The price was much less than I have paid in the past and the end result was better !!! It cant get any better than that !!!

Perfect cut and color. Jill gave me exactly the haircut I wanted and beautiful blue streaks, plus lots of good advice on how to maintain the color, for a very reasonable price.

Great color, great cuts & friendly. I've been to Venus hair salon twice since I have moved in to the neighborhood. I couldn't be more pleased. I have never had a color last as long as the one done by Jill. I had so many compliments weeks even after my hair was cut. I have short hair and if it still looks great 3-4 weeks after a cut you know your hairdresser did a fantastic job. Everyone is super friendly and interesting to speak with.

Best Hair Colorist in Town. Not only does Susan do a most thorough and long-lasting color job on my very-resistant gray hair, she takes great care to protect it as it is baby-fine and delicate. I have not been to any other colorist who makes my hair look this good and does not damage it.

In addition, when I have an appointment to get my hair done, I look forward to a laid-back and interesting experience. I enjoy taking time out of my busy schedule to go to Venus Hair as much as I appreciate the look of my hair when I walk out the door. It is a pleasurable way to get my hair colored and visit with friends.

Best color in town. I had the most wonderful color and highlights done today - the best ever! Have gotten several compliments already!
