The best in 58 years. I have curly, fine hair and no one has ever cut it right. I'm 58 years old! Finally Susan Venus did it just right. I've rarely had compliments before, but as soon as I visited this shop for the first time, the compliments just kept coming--old people, young people. Two months later with the same haircut, I was still getting compliments! This is a fabulous place!

Best Hair Cut and Color I ever got. I have thick curly hair and have had the hardest time getting a good cut and color. Jill at Venus is awesome and the whole experience at Venus was fun. My hair look great and I have gotten more compliments than I can count! If you are looking to a great cut and color go see Jill at Venus.

Long Distance Journey for a Style. Well ... moved f/Houston back in 9/09 and haven't had a decent haircut/style since! Thank goodness for Venus. When I came visiting back in April, Venus' was my first stop. And she did not let me down! Now if I could just import her clone to Mason County, MI where I live!!!

She has always been the best hair stylist ever for me! You won't be disappointed. And what a shop she has ... you'll be enamored and charmed.

Soon I'll be moving back to TX and you know where to find me every 2 months.

This place is great!! Thanks Becky!!. I was looking for a new stylist and checked online to see who got more thumbs up. Venus Hair Salon was by far the best rated salon in Houston... And once you go, you will see why!

Some like the clinical look of some salons, but I love a salon that puts you at ease as soon as you step in the door. Venus Hair does just that! The chairs that you sit in while getting your hair done are the original salon chairs, the walls are covered with old salon items from bygone eras, as well as conversational pieces that are scattered in little niches in the store... I am sure that I could visit this place a thousand times and discover something new. By this point, I haven't even had my head touched and I am already loving this place... Not to mention the hearse art car that is parked right outside of the salon!

I was scheduled to have my hair cut by Becky. My first impression from just looking at her is that this is gonna be a blast! And I was right... I told her what I was looking for and she did it just right! Not to mention, I loved talking to her... She has a great way of putting you at ease and having fun!

Needless to say, I think that I have found my new stylist... I am gonna be going back in a couple of weeks to get my hair cut again from Becky!

If you want fun cuts, color and a great experience Venus Hair is the place to go!

Awesome Salon!. I went and got my hair cut and colored by Becky. She did an awesome job! My hair is soooo gorgeous! The color is fabulous and the cut is divine!

I will definitely be going back for my next cut and color!

10 Stars!. After doing tons of online research looking for a hair salon in Houston that would be right for me, I finally settled on visiting Venus Hair. I recently moved to Houston, and after 10 years of going to the same stylist I was VERY nervous about letting anybody near my long, curly hair with scissors.

As soon as I walked in the door I felt a little more at ease. The entire salon is covered in kitschy, fun art, dolls, masks, etc. I get a little uncomfortable in sterile, modern, minimalist salons, so this type of atmosphere was great for me. Almost like an extension of home!

After talking with Becky for 10 minutes or so, I felt like I could completely trust her and put my hair in her hands. She cut my hair and I also got a gloss treatment to rev up the shine and hydrate my curls. Bottom line, she did a wonderful job with my hair! I will definitely be back for my next cut and I will be telling everyone I know in Houston about my experience.

Venus Hair and Jill Rock!!!. I have personal knowledge of the referral for polish princess and am very upset. Jill is not only the best at color and cuts but is a real sweetheart ! There were quite a few facts that princess left out. If your going to tell a story lets tell all the facts. First of all she came to Jill with a request to "fix a bad haircut". Jill did her best and she left happy. PP came back to Venus Hair THREE more times with complaints and all three times Jill did her best to satisfy the princess. (as is her policy there was no charge for those 3 visits because Jill does whatever it takes to please the customer) Then PP made a 5th appointment for a new hair cut and told Jill she wanted her bangs notched. That is what Jill did. When PP started whining Jill stopped and informed her that there would be no charge for her 5th haircut but that she would no longer be able to cut her hair because she was uncomfortable with her requests. Keep in mind this girl had a bad haircut to begin with and came in 5 times asking for haircuts all the while stating she was trying to grow her hair out!! Helpful Hint: If you want to grow out your hair STOP asking for it to be cut ! I am a 54 year old nurse and I want Jill to know that when my daughter first brought me in it was because I was feeling depressed and really just old. ( I was looking pretty old too) Jill's hair care has made me feel and look younger, she has really made a difference in my life. I get compliments very frequently and I would follow Jill anywhere because if I have anything to say about it, I will never let anyone else touch my hair. I make my appointments six weeks in advance and always leave feeling happy and beautiful! Venus Hair is not a "Quirky" Salon it is awesome with originality. I have also noticed the fact that Venus cuts hair for seniors at a very reduced rate. How much more could you possibly want out of a hair salon. So my advice to polish princess is yeah go back to the mall. That may be the best place for you. But as for me and many many other satisfied customers, well keep hanging out at Venus Hair where the happy people go. So sorry you had to be booted out :)

Wouldn't think of going elsewhere!. I have used Venus hair for over a year. I go once a month like clockwork. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you need color correction, this is the place to go. Jill is my stylist and is an artist and master at color and high lighting. Venus has owned this salon for YEARS and she did my hair once when Jill was out of town. Loved her work as well. I feel very lucky that I have found this little shop that is easy to get to in the Heights and takes such good care of me. The idea of trying to find another stylist or salon is as scary as the idea of dating again! Thank you so much ladies for all your hard work, and the fun, dedicated customers you've got that make all my visits so much fun!
