Sicilian*Texan Hospitality at its best!. Sammy Patrenella [Jr & Sr] and waiter Hector~~made my 1st visit and BD dinner last nite~~one 2 remember.

The owners were soo generous~~they sent FREE eggplant parmesan, garden fresh salad, wine & beer and homemade tiramisu for 3 people~how AWESOME & unexpected is that?!

Everything they serve is organic and/or from their garden in backyard. Our main entrees were: the saturday nite special trout w/crabmeat topping & the 2nd dish~~veal picatta~~D'lish! Everything we ate was sooo good.

The owners & staff made this BD dinner soo special & heart felt....SMOOCHES

Perfect. I had never heard of Patrenella's before and only knew about it because I see it every time I get my hair cut. My barber is across the street and I always guiltily park in Patrenella's parking lot. I found out at the last minute my best friend was going to be alone for mother's day so I invited her to meet me here hoping it wouldn't already be full of reservations. We got there early and were immediately seated. The service there is excellent. Everyone was very polite and friendly. I thought it was very nice when the waiter approached just as I was giving my friend her mother's day card that he backed off and waited until we were finished. It's the little things that really count sometimes. We ordered and didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. It was awesome. I recommend wholeheartedly what I ordered: Veal in Olive sauce. Wow.

The house it is in is beautifully decorated and there are plenty of windows that let in a ton of light. I believe the house has been in the family for a couple of generations. Nice to be eating in a place with history. Can't wait to go back.

Best Italian Family Run Restaurant in Houston. My wife and I have been dining at Patranella's for about 15 years. Sammy Patrenella and his family really know how to treat their guests well and they make you feel welcome and at home. The food is top notch. Sammy's eggplant is tasty and is worth ordering as an appetizer no matter how many other dishes you may order, and the stuffed artichoke made my wife's day. The waiter, Jay, was very nice and treated us well. He knew the menu well and was effiicent, and courteous. My wife ordered crab cakes as an entree, and they were tasty and appealing. She mentioend during dinner that the crab cakes were fresher and tastier than any crab cakes she has had in Houston or Galveston, They were full of fresh lump crab, and she ate every bite. I ordered a shrimp-pasta dish that was excellent. The bottle of beer was ice cold, and our dinner salad was very fresh. Sammy grows his own garden on an adjacent lot so we imagine that some of the salad greens and veggies may have come from Sammy's own garden. Our meal with two entrees, salad, appetizer and beer was $58 and worth every penny. The restaurant was very busy at 7:30 PM on Saturday night, yet the wait staff excelled and the kitchen put out a superb meal. Sammy, we will be back! Great job! This is a good place to dine.

my favorite italian in Houston. This is hands-down my favorite italian restaurant in Houston. The service isn't always perfect, but overall it is generally pretty good--and excellent when my favorite waiter is there. Their alfredo sauce is fabulous, and they have a pound cake they make in-house that is to die for.

Excellent Italian - charming family-owned restaurant. We are Patrenella's regulars and this has been our favorite hidden spot for years. The food is always premium and the dining room so romantic. It's a historic home turned restaurant. Service has been pretty good though you best make reservations for dinner on weekends.

terrible language. Upon entering the restaurant we were promptly greeted by the hostess. The atmosphere was quaint and welcoming; however, there was some conflict between two of the waiters and one was very loud in voicing his opinion. (There is no way he could have missed us coming in to the restaurant considering we were directly in his line of vision) he cursed quite audibly stunning both my husband and myself. The other customers around us were disturbed by the profanity and my children heard this offensive language. We immediately requested to be seated as far away from this man as possible.

The hostess apologized but the waiter seemed unaffected by our reaction. Once we arrived at our table in the back restaurant the service was wonderful and the food was beyond our expectations. But i can promise you we will think twice about returning because of that man.

Bravo!. I had a fabulous romantic meal here on Friday for my birthday. We haven't been in a couple of years and it was just as good as ever. The food was very good and the service was top notch. There was always someone there whenever anything was needed. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening and I can't wait to go back.

Overpriced but charming. We were promptly seated. The waiter recited the specials but failed to mention the price, which resulted in a party member spending way over his budget for dinner. Bread was replenished without asking. The menu focuses mostly on chicken and pasta. Where the osso buco? The noise volume on a Friday night made conversation a little challenging. Great for a Friday night after-work dinner, but not the best Italian food.
