Expensive service not worth the money!

by awashere

When I took my dogs to be bathed and groomed, I dropped them off on the way to work and picked them up that afternoon. It was obvious that they hadn't been given any water or let out during that whole time! In addition, while the grooming is supposed to include care of the ana glands, about a week after the appointment my dog had problems and had to be taken to the vet. The vet said that it didn't appear that they had been expressed recently. I don't mind paying more for my pet to have quality care, but this certainly was not the case! I've found a different groomer for future visits and recommend that you skip this place.

  • Pros: Nail grinding
  • Cons: Expensive, neglectful of animals

Good little local groomer

by Mustardseed2007

I've taken my dog there twice now and after two good experiences, I plan to be a regular. My mini poodle doesn't really like to go to the groomers or the vet in general, but they are very gentle with her and do a good job giving her the poodle cut tailored to my specific instructions. The price is on par with most other places. They probably cost more than your local petsmart but as much as an independant. locally-owned groomer that does a good job. I wouldn't go OUT of my way to go here, but while I'm living in the heights I think we'll be patrons.

  • Pros: They all obviously like animals, decent price, quick service
  • Cons: none

Has fallen into poor care/business practices.

We had used this establishment for many years. When the management changed, things went downhill. Dogs are kept in crates far too long and in some cases in ones too small to support the standard of lay down, stand up, turn around and lay down again. They cannot keep good groomers (as of our last encounter) and they do not walk a dog who has been there a long time. On the other hand, we have found an alternative that keeps ALL dogs in separate areas (with little cots for them to lay on) and room to s-t-r-e-t-c-h out. They are let out TWICE during the day to keep them comfortable. Give Rover Oaks a try and I think you will be happy.

  • Pros: Had some good groomers
  • Cons: Tight-fitting crates, no appointments, over-committed, standards fallen
