Come Sundays for the all-you-can-eat brunch, where the waitstaff encourages you to refill your plate. Don't miss the Bloody Mary station.
Impressed with new look and food.
The new improved interior refresh is new to me because the last time I was there they had grafitti everywhere and an intentionally dirty interior. Since Tillman (Landry's restaurant chain) took over he cleaned up the inside, added artwork, booths, and even white tablecloths! In my opinion he improved the menu, taste, and the portions. Its not quite up to Pappacitos level, but it's better than average. I was pleasantly happy with the attentive service (Oscar), the quality of the drinks and even the police officer patrolled paved parking lot.
Tillman Fertitta, Landry's CEO, gets blamed for taking over restaurants and creating corporate blandness and average food, but in this day and age of rising costs you have to do something. Independent restaurants may be superior for awhile until their chef or cook staff is hired away, then it goes downhill like Tony's Mexican. For what we paid, I think Landry's Cadillac Bar is pretty good for what it is. If you want excellent mexican food, go the the mom and pop places on the North side, but don't expect the same service or security for your car.
Best quesadillas in town. My husband and I went on a Tuesday night my 2nd or 3rd time there his first, of course I went to the old Cadillac Bar with the writing on the walls, but we found the new one to be just as fun and the food was great. Our server was a buddy holly lookalike and just as musical. All in All we had a wonderful time and will go back as soon as possible.
AMAZING Newly renovated!!. For those who have not been in awhile, You need to go again, very soon!! The loud, crazy atmoshpere has been replaced. All the graffiti is gone! They made a few changes to the menu and I hear a terrific wine list is on the way! They added some cozy booths and completely remodeled! It's definately not the same Cadillac Bar!
Do NOT dine here. Sure their drinks are good and it may be a fun pre-party place but the food and service is lousy. Saw a rodent when I went to the restroom. Management was not existent. Friends of ours had a large flying insect drop in their plate while dining. (The review found the correct name for the insect inappropriate - for obvious reasons) Many reasons we will never return. BTW: If you have a complaint and try to call the Landry's Corp. office, do not expect a call back! They apparently do not care whether or not you enjoy their restaurants!
Average Mexican Food- Graffiti Atmosphere. The food here is about average for Mexican restaurants. My food had little flavor, the cheese bland. My friend's fajitas not nearly as good as Pappasittos. The service was good but we came during a slow time and the place was almost empty. Personally I do not like all the scribbling and graffiti literally EVERYWHERE. It makes the place look trashy and like some 20's something drunken hangout. The nicely dressed waiters somehow seem out of place with nothing but trash scribbled all over the walls, chairs, tables, bathrooms and anywhere else childish kids can find.
The new and improved!!!. I don't know what happened in the past but the Cadillac Bar today is GREAT! I have had an event there and the food and service was wonderful. I didn't have to worry about a thing. As a matter of fact, they were voted the best Sunday brunch in Houston, and now I know why. They have a huge variety of food for all ages and it won't put a whole in your wallet. I was surprised to know that they did such a variety from, BBQ, Italian, seafood to whatever your heart wants, they'll do it. I love it and so does my family. Whoever had a bad experience in the past, I would give Cadillac another chance.
Traditional family-friendly Tex-Mex restaurant is good for a casual meal with plenty of chips and salsa..
In Short
Whether looking to start your night out with the girls or celebrate something special with the kiddos, this Tex-Mex restaurant and cantina serves up an order of fun with every meal. A large bar with televisions makes it a great place to meet up with your group, or enjoy semi-private dining rooms located throughout the colorful dining room. Menu items cover the standards well, while offering barbecue and seafood too.
Class Reunion Bust. Would not recommend booking their party rooms for banquets/weddings because of poor customer service. We paid $200 for a room and $550 for buffett plus bar tab. They split our room with another party, would not discount the price we paid. We had people coming in and out of our room all night, using our bar, using our dance floor. Could not find a manager all night. Food ran out before everyone was served, we were charged for drinks that were going to the other party. Manager appeared at mid-night and was very defensive and rude. Said she would do nothing for us and we should have said something sooner. We were told the bill was paid and we needed to leave. Called Landry's Corp. twice to complain about service. Phone calls went un-returned. Poor, poor customer service. Will never go back.
disapointing. We have tried two different locations and the story is the same Great Bar, Lousy food. The best advice would be to come here for cocktails then eat somewhere else. They try too hard with the menu and replace many of the traditional favorites with exotic creations that can't possibly appeal to many tex mex lovers such as a crabmeat, avacodo, and celry enchalada. yuk! they would do better to leave the "Cadillac" off of the name and just call it a BAR
Great Margaritas.... This place has makes super great margaritas but I was a bit disappointed in the food. When I went there were alot of bachelorette parties- obviously it's the place to be ....and don't forget you can write on the wall too...just for fun!
