Citysearch Editorial Review. Surprisingly unpretentious for a bar that doubles as an art gallery, this pleasant watering hole occupies a small cavern-like space next to Rudyard's (hence the name). Regulars enjoy the spot for its cheap drinks, comfy couches, B-movie screenings, and charming smoker's patio with intricate ironwork railing. The rotating art exhibits and colored lighting cultivate a relaxed bohemian atmosphere conducive to conversation, the eclectic digital jukebox pumps out everything from punk to speed metal to disco and a foosball table and cluster of old-school arcade games engage the active dive-bar devotees who often grace the space for last call after a night of Montrose barhopping or a show at Rudz.

My favorite bar in the south. I love this little dive bar. The drinks are fairly priced, they show cool b-movies and have an awesome jukebox. Art and Nicole are my favorites.

Awesome. The service is great. The jukebox has a great selection of songs... from UGK to The Cramps. Just a rad place to be!!

Not good enough for this part of town. I got 3 drinks (all the same) and each time was charged a different price as if they were just making it up as they went along. Also, it's funny that they have no smoking signs, but they allow smoking inside and I even saw the bartenders smoking while they worked ! Overall, not impressive.

bestrumpunch. If someone were to ask me what my favorite bar in houston is, i would have to say the next door!!! This is such an aweosome little place. It has everything i look for when i want to go and have some drinks. The music is great, they have a music player with selected rock artists. The drinks are to die for, i have not found any place who can make better rum punches than the next door...absolutely tasty. The place is filled with art on the wall, so that u can stare at art while u get your drink on. This place gets crowded really fast since it is so small but it is so worth it...go check it out by yourselves. One of the best kept secrets in houston.
